Notes
Bedroom 1 has a very large double bed with mountain views through the floor to ceiling shutters and a high pitched beamed ceiling.
Bedroom 2 has a large double bed (twins - can be separated) leading onto a private citrus terrace, plus adjacent en-suite bathroom and dressing area.
The galleried loft bedroom suite accessed via a spiral staircase from Bedroom 1, and edged by intricate ballustrade, boasts a very private decked balcony perfect for leisurely mornings, giving direct entry/access onto the top olive terrace. The decking has been carefully constructed around "Oscar" - our 600 year old olive tree. It has a large en-suite bathroom.
The Dining room with original stone floor, original well (secured) and wood burning fireplace seats 6/8.
The Lounge is tastefully designed with solid teak furniture and textiles, ample seating and a feature wood burning fireplace. It has 3 sofas, one of which is a small double sofabed. Opening onto a large terrace with seating for the early evening sun.
Adjacent to the Dining room is a fully fitted and appointed hand built wooden kitchen, opening onto a wisteria & honeysuckle clad terrace with separate outside utility area.
The gardens are terraced in traditional dry stone walling, with an abundance of citrus fruit (in season) for freshly squeezed breakfast juice, a tiny but characteristic vineyard, mature olives and hammocks for lazy days. There are four terraces in total plus a private wooden decked large balcony from the loft bedroom. The pool attracts the sun from dawn to dusk and has its own dining terrace and secluded sunlounging area.
In the interest of other guests, this is a strictly non smoking house.
Regrettably due to the location, age and hillside terrain of the Finca and gardens, with many terrace levels externally, we would not suggest it suitable for active toddlers, particularly at fast crawling/learning to walk stage.
For our elderly guests you will need to be fairly agile for the access up/down the steps from/to the car park and village.
The finca is completely detached in its own grounds and not overlooked. All rooms are beautifully furnished and compliment the natural finishes and exposed beams.
For winter bookings, logs for the 2 woodburners are provided and delivered in bulk for your arrival and charged to you at cost. These supplement the perimeter heating.
Access Routes: - Can Mayol is best accessed from the foc parking below (which we/guests use) by way of a 2 min walk through the orange orchard, and a path of 60 shallow steps/treads up to the finca gate. Alternatively a 4/5 min walk from the village plaza below, via paths and steps, through a cluster of local houses clad with bouganvillea, and the church. Third option is parking on the roadside bays above the finca and walking down. As well as the foc parking, there are 3 pay and display car parks located around the village.
