Our villa is situated on the slopes above Lanjaron, just 5 minutes walk from the centre of the village. Lanjaron itself is an attractive mountain village, 500 metres above sea level on the southern slopes of the Sierra Nevada and famed for its natural springs and its health-giving mineral water. From the villa's surrounding terraces there are breathtaking views of Mediterranean mountain landscapes as far as the Tropical Coast, 30 minutes drive away

The entrance to the detached property leads through a gate into a beautiful garden full of rose bushes and plants and surrounded by lawns and hedges. There is a small fountain just before the house and an 8x4 metre swimming pool with external shower to the right. Both the pool and the gardens are very well maintained. Near to the pool there is a brick barbecue and small kitchen, ideal for eating al fresco at any time. There is also an additional toilet next to the kitchen.

The villa itself is an outstandingly well-equipped holiday house with 160m² of floor space divided into 2 levels. On the ground floor there is a spacious living room with dining area and a cosy corner with armchairs and a sofa round an open fireplace. Also on the ground floor there are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom with shower unit.

On the second floor there is a larger bathroom with a bath and 2 other bedrooms, one small and the other a large mirrored room with double bed. The stairs to the upper floor also lead out to a large south facing balcony with sun loungers where guests can relax and enjoy the spectacular scenery. In good weather the view stretches up to 20 km down to the coast.

The villa is decorated and furnished throughout to a very high standard and whilst not keeping to the local rustic style of the area, it is, nevertheless, a comfortable and luxurious place to stay. There is also satellite TV and a large ceiling fan for hotter times of the year. The kitchen is, likewise, very roomy and well-equipped with dishwasher, microwave and all mod cons as well as a sitting area.

Lanjaron itself offers an array of high quality bars and restaurants, shops, banks and medical supplies. There is also a baths with massage facilities. The approach road to Villa La Madre aswell as the parking is slightly complicated and leads up through the town where the lanes are quite narrow and steep. However, the last part of the road is only used to access the property and thus guarantees complete tranquillity. Parking is below the house on a small terrace.
