The apartment enjoys spectacular views from east to south, with Salobreña and Motril visible in the distance. The terraces enjoy sun virtually all day.
All amenities are less than 1 km. The beach and watersports are within 800 metres, and there are restaurants and bars for all tastes.
The inside is open plan with space for living, dining and relaxing. The compact kitchen space is equipped with an electric ceramic hob, combination oven, microwave and grill, toaster, kettle, coffee machine and fridge.
The living/dining room area is across from the kitchen where there is a large door to the terrace; this makes the room light and airy. In the corner of the living room is a 32 inch flat screen TV with satellite channels including SKY, DVD/CD and stereo system. There is also a CD/radio player. Electric heating is provided in winter. Internet access using WiFi is available
On the large terrace in front of the apartment there are sun beds,a table and chairs and gas BBQ. Three steps down from the terrace is a small garden with trees, shrubs and cacti.
The bathroom has a shower, WC, and washbasin, as well as hairdryer, cupboard space and washing machine. The hot water is supplied by an electric hot water heater.
The pretty tiled bedroom has a large double bed with two x 80 cm memory foam mattresses a large wardrobe and sliding doors to a covered loggia where there are rattan chairs and a table.
The pool area, which can be lit at night, is surrounded by tropical plants and trees which provide shade and a feeling of tranquillity. The pool can be heated on request for a supplement,a good idea in low season.
In less than an hour each way from Almuñecar you can drive to either Malaga or Granada where in winter the Sierra Nevada offers skiing in winter.
Nearby there is also the Peña Escrita country park, Marina del Este, and the town of Salobreña, featuring a dramatic Moorish castle built on a large rock outcrop overlooking the sea.
Local attractions include Almuñecar Old Town and castle, a great shopping and rambling area, the "Loro Sexi" bird park, the Parque el Majuelo with its Roman fish salting works, and Playa del Altillo with its wonderful sculptures along the promenade.
The castle overlooks Parque El Majuelo, a beautiful park and venue for special events, including the Almuñecar Jazz Festival in July.
All local Spanish bars on the Costa Tropical offer Free Tapas when having a drink. This is only to be found in Granada province. See my photos :-)
