Resort description
The Costa Blanca is renowned for its year round sunshine and low rainfall, fresh fish, hand picked oranges, figs, dates and vegetables. In the early spring the whole area is covered with the white or pink blossom from the Almond trees and the site and smell is incredible.
Altea, is a cozy, historical fishing village situated in one of the major tourist’s centers of Spain, 50 km north-east from Alicante, 125 km south-east from Valencia. Fishermen, artists and quality tourists from around Europe meet in this pretty little town with its own well kept sandy beach, rocky bays and coves.
Altea has a truly genuine atmosphere with many restaurants and tapas bars. Good cuisine is well represented on the beach walk. The village has kept the characteristics of a typical Spanish pueblo with the old town perched high up on a hill topped with a beautiful blue roofed church. The whitewashed old town has remained untouched by mass tourism and the narrow cobbled streets are lined with restaurants and art shops, wonderful to walk through in the early evening. Altea also features other attractions like concerts, evening entertainment, museums, hiking, boating, jeep safaris, diving, bodegas, golf courses, tennis, cycling and much more. The Altea tennis club offers two swimmingpools, a playground for the kids and a restaurant. You also have the local market on Tuesdays.
Close by are the theme parks of Mundomar, Aqualandia and Terra Mitica. Terra Natura Safari park are within a short drive. Water sports, pony trekking and boat trips are all in the neighborhood.
