Benalmadena Beaches - Playa La Viborilla

Playa La Viborilla will positively surprise you. Hidden between numerous palm trees and a little forest, it's by far the most beautiful beach on the coast of Benalmadena.

About La Viborilla Beach

Playa La Viborilla, Benalmadena

The small dimensions of the beach make it seem rather small, but on the upside it makes the beach even more charming. It's 100 metres long and about 10-15 metres wide, depending on the exact spot where you are on the beach. So if you're into long, relaxing walks on the beach we'd advise you to go to Playa Santa Ana. Playa La Viborilla will, however, certainly appeal to people who love exploring the underwater life. So don't forget your diving gear, as it will definitively come in handy!

Playa La Viborilla, Benalmadena

The beach is surrounded by cliffs at the other side which makes think you're on a paradise island somewhere in the Caribbean Sea. The only reminder of Andalusian nature are the gravel stones. The beach is virtually invisible from the road thanks to its lush vegetation.

The calm sea makes it a favourite beach among families with children who are spending their holiday in Benalmadena and looking for peace.

Just next to the beach, hidden between the cliffs, you can find tiny coves. These are virtually inaccessible via the mainland.

Amenities

Playa La Viborilla, Benalmadena

Like all the other beaches in Benalmadena, La Viborilla offers you practically all possible amenities. You'll find showers, toilets, sun loungers and umbrellas for rent. On top of that, the beach is regularly cleaned.

Between the palm trees you'll find the only restaurant on the beach, Restaurante La Viborilla. From there, you'll be able to enjoy amazing views and sunsets. Following local tradition, the restaurant specialises in fish and paella. Prices are a bit higher than in other restaurants along the coast. You can try the smoked sardines for 6€ and the paella for 12.5€. If you are really hungry you can always try the menú del día or menu of the day. The menu includes lettuce salad, tomato, onion, beef fillet with chips, bread, one drink and a coffee. Payment with credit card is accepted from 6€. If you have children and you want to entertain them, then just send them to the main room of the restaurant. Undoubtedly, they will be fascinated by the huge amount of clay pots hanging on the ceiling.

When staying in your holiday home in Benalmadena, you can always prepare your own food and take it with you to the beach.

How to get there?

We need to mention that accessing the beach will be quite difficult for disabled people as the access to the beach consists of quite steep steps. This makes it quite impossible to enter the beach in a wheelchair.

The beach is accessible by bus (M120 - Benalmadena - Fuengirola route), or by car. Parking is never usually an issue, as the beach has a large dedicated car park. If you are coming from the Torremolinos/Malaga direction, take the old coastal road, the MA-21, which becomes Av. Antonio Machado, just as you enter Benalmadena. Keep following signs for Fuengirola and you'll pass through several roundabouts. Just after the Torrequebrada Casino (on the left), you'll see a sign for "Nueva Torrequebrada" and a roundabout, take a left here and park. The beach is just beneath you.
