Comarruga

Comarruga, or Coma-Ruga in its native Catalan, is situated along the charming coast of the Costa Dorada, in the province of Tarragona in Catalonia. The resort is popular for its wonderful expanse of golden sand, warm clear sea and excellent amenities.

Located around 40 minutes from Barcelona and just 20 minutes from the airport at Reus, Comarruga offers an excellent base to explore both the Costa Dorada and the wonderful Roman province of Tarragona.

Around town

Comarruga offers a -back environment, perfect for families and couples looking for a relaxing holiday, but with lots of leisure pursuits to hand.

There are plenty of bars, restaurants and shops on hand to satisfy your needs, and the beach and coastline is perfect for all types of water sports.

Beaches

The coastline of the Costa Dorada is renowned for its long stretches of golden sands and beautiful turquoise, warm seas. The beach at Comarruga consists of a wonderful expanse of sand with good facilities and leisure activities. Perfect for families and children, the clean sands gently shelve down to the sea, which is safe for children.

Places to visit

The wonderful city of Tarragona is just 24 kilometres from Comarruga, with its magnificent Roman architecture. All along the coastline there are beautiful coastal villages to visit. The Aventura Theme Park is closeby and an excellent day out for the whole family.

If you enjoy a round or two of golf then the Golf La Graiera Club won’t disappoint. The course suits both experienced and amateur golfers; set in amongst woodland, lakes and charming countryside.

In neighbouring Calafell there is an outdoor market on Tuesdays and Fridays, which sell local artisan goods, produce and souvenirs. You can also catch the bus to Barcelona and enjoy one of Spain’s most exciting cities.

Climate
Tarragona enjoys pleasantly mild winters with some rainfall. From April to October the temperatures range from 20 degrees to over 30-35 degrees during July and August.

Comarruga review

We didn't spend a lot of time in the city except our villa and the beach boulevard. There were some activities but it's good to have a car so that you can get to other places too.
