Rasquera

Rasquera is a typical Catalan village situated in the foothills of the Sierra Cardo in the Tarragona province. The town sits 150 metres above the River Ebro, Spain’s largest river in an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Rasquera is just 25 kilometres from the beautiful Costa Dorada, 30 kilometres from the city of Tortosa and 150 kilometres from Barcelona.

About town
Rasquera is a very typical Catalan village. The old quarter is delightful to explore with its maze of ancient narrow, cobbled streets and arches.

There are adequate amenities for holidaymakers, with shops, wonderful bakeries selling crusty bread for your breakfast, a restaurant and as with many inland towns in Spain, Rasquera has a municipal swimming pool, which is open through July and August; somewhere to cool off during the balmy summer months.

Natural surroundings
Rasquera is situated in a spectacular landscape. With the River Ebro cutting through the nearby mountains, the Templar Castle at Miravet is a particularly stunning scene.

Places to visit
The beautiful coastline of the Costa Dorada is just 15 minutes away, with its wonderful beaches, coves and seaside resorts. The city of Tortosa is around 30 kilometres away and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Tarragona is just a little further away.

Rasquera is located close to two of Spain’s premier wine area’s, those of Montsant, close to Falset and Terra Alta at Gandesa. Visitors can visit the local bodegas for wine tasting and purchasing of the wines.

Climate
Rasquera enjoys warm blossom filled springs, long hot summers and autumns of golden sunlight and rich sweet plums. The winters are generally mild with some rainfall.

City review

A beautifully quiet typically Spanish village. Lovely restaurant and several bars and shops.
