Fun with the kids in Antequera – near Málaga
May 14th, 2012 by Carol Byrne
Last week my daughter went on a field trip with her school to Antequera. The aim of the day was to explore the Karst or Lime formations of the area known as El Torcal – which used to be under the sea. Listening to her rave about her day and viewing the photos she took – I thought it would be a nice addition to your list of things to do with the kids on your next Spanish holiday.

It is so easy to just hop off a Spanish motorway and discover new sights and experience villages, towns and cities that you might otherwise have driven right by. April 12th, 2011 by vernon

It’s getting hot in Spain. Some areas have recorded record temperatures for the month of April. That will come as a delight to many. For others, such as those who live in the area nicknamed the frying pan of Spain, it will still be cool. This part of Spain is hot stuff. In more ways than one.

Situated in the geographical heart of Andalucia, is the city of Antequera. Called ‘Anticaria’ by the Romans – the old city, Antequera is a town that feels almost lost in time, carefully preserving its age-old charms.
Known as the city of Spires for its many Churches and with Antequera’s museums housing approximately 80% of all the art treasures in the province of Malaga, there is no shortage of things to see and do. Here is short selection of some of Antquera’s highlights.
