Flaming June. If you really want to see some sunshine this June then you’d better book up quick! Spain has all the sunshine, the Summer in Britain has already been and gone - 2 days was it?!
How about really feeling the heat ? As in the full-on passion of Spain? I’m not taking about a holiday romance, but the celebration of Flamenco. In June, you can see and hear it all at the Suma Flamenca Festival – in the hot capital, Madrid. Pack your frills and heels…and best sense of rhythm!

Madrid in Springtime – perfect! The colder Winter nights of this high placed city are over,the intense heat of Summer not quite here, the perfect time to visit and stay in Madrid is now, the capital city of Spain. Any capital city weekend or short break is always full of things to do, but if you choose to visit Madrid next week, you can also take part in one of the biggest festivals on the city’s calender – the Fiesta de San Isidro. Holy Week and Easter in Spain

Easter. What does it conjure up for you? Chocolate. Easter Eggs. The Easter Bunny. More solemnly, Religion?
Somehow, sunshine figures somewhere in there too, why do all childhood memories of Easter involve yellow ribbons and sunshine? But you can still have some sunshine too, not if you stay at home, but come instead to sunny Spain for Semana Santa – probably the biggest and most important date on the Spanish calender.

Bullfighting in Spain

Bullfighting. It’s an emotive subject. Do you loathe it? Or do you accept bullfighting as part and parcel of the culture of Spain? Easily dismissed as cruel, barbaric or old fashioned, many visitors to Spain find bullfighting abhorrent – but it is still a big part of the culture and history of this country. What do you think? At just under 50 kilometres from Toledo too, consider Aranjuez for a visit the next time you are in this beautiful part of Spain. Royal connections ensure that there is plenty to gaze at, with stunning architecture and sightseeing. So leave the bustle of Madrid alone for just a day, and explore Aranjuez. Well, we’re still here. The End Of The World wasn’t nigh, as it turned out. Lucky us. Luckier still, for some this morning , waking up the day after El Gordo – the famous Spanish Christmas Lottery. No, I didn’t win – or I wouldn’t be sitting here writing this! – but if I had, I think I would be booking myself and my friends and family into a little bit of luxury for Christmas. Not a hotel – too impersonal – but a stunning high end rental property. Now, let’s just imagine for a moment that we had the winning ticket….Where shall we go? Where’s that chauffeur?
