All at sea in Spain

So the sea is the sea. Is that correct? After all, the sea is blue. You can swim in it, sail on it, fly over the top of it. Ideally the waves arrive on a sandy beach in Spain. That would be the Mediterranean then, would it? Well, yes. And no. It depends where you are. You may be marvelling at the Med. Or you may be admiring the Atlantic. But which is it?

Bus Stop – to the beach

When Spanish families go to the beach they tend to take the entire contents of their house with them. Everything except the kitchen sink. That is because they go there in the comfort of their air conditioned car. But what if you want to see Spain by bus? As i sometimes do. Well you can take plenty of stuff with you on a Spanish bus. Though taking a fold out dining table for twelve people may be stretching your luck. Here are the coastlines I have seen by bus.

Before the outbreak of the Civil War, Laurie Lee made his way from northern Spain to the south. He stayed in Zamora and Toro on his way to Valladolid. Heading south, en route to Almuñécar (see part 1 feature), he spent time in Cadiz and Malaga. But it was in Seville that he first experienced the true character of Andalusia. Judging from what he writes, both places have improved greatly in the intervening years.

As some of you might know, Tarifa, located on the Costa de la Luz in southern Spain has become the most visited beach in all of Europe for both kitesurfers and windsurfers.  Tarifa is the perfect place to try one of these sports and there are many professional kite and windsurfing schools around for thoose you would like to learn. One thing I can guarantee, is that after a day on the beach riding the waves with the strong breeze, hunger will strike, and therefore here you will find a list to some of the best places to eat out in Tarifa.
