A recent study by the Post Office Travel Money has confirmed that this year is a great year to travel.

Both the Euro crisis and the relative strength of the Pound Sterling are making travelling abroad ever more appealing. The Sterling has strengthened against 80% of the world’s currencies since the beginning of the year.

Some of the most marked changes have been against the Euro.

The Euro Crisis

Very bad news for some, but great news for holidaymakers with Pounds in their pockets.

The Pound hit a new three-and-a-half year high against the Euro last night closing with the Euro worth 82p (at one point it was down to 79.6p)

Families travelling to Spain will get £47.41 more than last year when they change £500, while the price of a three-course meal for two with wine costs less than £43 this year.

British holidaymakers can expect 10.5 per cent more purchasing power in Spain this year.

With one of the wettest Springs on record for the UK, many people’s minds have turned towards warmer climes and towards the summer holidays.

Now is the perfect time to book that well deserved holiday to Spain
