During the Roman times, Cordoba was the Capital of the province of Baetica. It was one of the most important cities on the Iberian Peninsula. It wasn’t however until after the Moorish conquest that Cordoba really came into its own. Becoming one of the most sophisticated cities in the Western World.
Life during the 10C in Cordoba, was unlike that, of any other city of its time. Characterised by peace and prosperity, religious tolerance and above all, a place of excellence and learning. Here’s a brief summary of Cordoba’s fascinating history.
