Sephardic Seville: The Santa Cruz District

The Barrio de Santa Cruz (Santa Cruz neighbourhood) is an area located close to the centre of Seville; it’s one of the oldest neighbourhoods in Seville and one of the most visited tourist spots in the city, and not without good reason. The area is particularly attractive with narrow cobbled streets, whitewashed villas, family mansions and beautiful plazas; a neighbourhood where you can sit and a watch the world go by, taking in the scent of the orange blossom and Sevillana culture. It was originally Seville’s thriving Jewish quarter (the Judería).
