There are several reasons to say Ayamonte has something special, worth a visit:

Ayamonte is today a modern city whose marina, next to the Guadiana, provides a good ambient and helps the fishing industry. You can cross the Guadiana river by ferry into portugals Vila Real for just over a euro.
The beaches of Ayamonte are Isla Canela and Punta del Moral. Also worth a visit are other beaches in the Huelva area namely Playa del Rompido, San Miguel and Nuevo Portil. These beaches offer different, but equally beautiful, scenery with Pine forests extending right up to the beach.
Ayamonte also offers plenty of activities for the more sporty traveller. There are plenty of Golf courses to visit, water sports, walking, sailing and of course you have the wonderful climate to enjoy them in.
There is a nice choice of holiday homes to rent in Ayamonte, where you can enjoy the scenery during your whole stay. Costa de la Luz is a place where you will definitly return, as the beaches are superb and there is no mass-tourism.
