Valencia
a city of cultural and commercial prestige is situated halfway down the Eastern coast of Spain. It is considered to be one of the principle cities of the Mediterranean, and is the third most important city in Spain. Its population is 800,000 inhabitants, or 1,500,000 if we add to that the population of the surrounding suburbs and towns. A modern communications network makes Valencia easily accessible, and links Valencia to other important Spanish and European cities through its Port, Motorway links, Airport and Railway network.

Valencia beaches
Valencias sunny beaches deserve to be mentioned separately. Their high quality standards, infrastructure, and level of service have made them famous throughout Europe and the Mediterranean. On More that 100 km of coastline a large number of seaside towns have been awarded the distinguished European Blue Flag. This distinctive internationally recognised symbol guarantees quality, high standards and beaches in good conditions, as well as the use of facilities for the numerous visitors that these beaches receive- both Spanish and foreign

Valencia and its beaches hold a position of privilege for tourism in Spain. Caressed by the Mediterranean sea, it boasts sunny coasts, and all year round warm temperatures. Valencia is also known as "The City of Light" thanks to its 2,600 hours of Sun per year - and thats without even taking into account the light generated when all the "Fallas" are burned, or the fantastic firework displays which have been admired by people from all over the world due to their unbeatable effect.

Gastronomi
Valencia must recommend to any traveller interested in its gastronomy the typical "Paella". Apart from Sun and Paella, theres a lot to discover in the Valencian province, and this is one of the reasons that Valencia has become such an important area for tourism, and for people looking for a second home, or even a change of home to warmer climes - both for Spaniards from other areas of Spain and foreigners! The coasts of Gandía, Oliva, Benidorm, Javea, Altea, ... speak for themselves, and are renowned both nationally and internationally.

General
The extraordinarily appealing climate ( the average annual temperature being 16.7º C) includes mild winters and warm summers to be enjoyed on the regions sunny white-sanded beaches, which stretch out from the City of Valencia itself along the Valencian coastline, making it popular among tourists. Valencia boasts one of the largest remaining historical centres in Europe, and the citys noble past can be felt here, in what was the Economic and Cultural capital of the Mediterranean in the 14th and 15th centuries. Valencia invites you to discover little by little the hidden secrets of this beautiful Mediterranean historical city, which is always waiting open and ready for those who wish to visit.

The City of Valencia, since its beginnings, has been a Mediterranean backbone, and has played an important part in its history. From the foundation of the Roman Valentia to the Valencia of the present day, this city has always been, and continues to be an important city in the cultural and economic realms, and cannot be overlooked when referring to European culture. Built upon a marshland stretching from the delta of the Xuquer river to that of the Turia river, Valencia has on it the mark of various civilisations that have passed through it.

To go to Valencia is an adventure of its own kind!!
