The apartment has amazing views of the Sierra Bernia Mountains from the west-facing, large illuminated terrace, which has a table and six chairs, large parasol, two sun loungers and a gas barbeque. It is the perfect place for alfresco dining and to watch the spectacular sunsets. Inside there is a spacious open plan living area with home comforts, a flat screen TV with international satellite TV in several languages including movie/ sports channels, and CD player. The fully equipped kitchen has all mod cons: dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee maker and iron. There is air conditioning in the main bedroom and living room, which is also heating for any colder days. Both bedrooms have ample wardrobes and drawer storage space. There is a fully tiled modern bathroom with low-level WC, walk-in shower enclosure and large wash basin. The accommodation is all on one level - however as it is accessed from the road by a flight of steps so it may not be suitable for people with severe mobility problems. Car hire is recommended as the landscape in this part of the Cumbre is dramatically steep. The nearby Lirios Commercial Centre has Chinese and European restaurants, bars, shops, and a children's playground. Elsewhere on Cumbre del Sol, at the Adelfas Centre, you'll find more excellent restaurants, an international supermarket, banks, and a pharmacy. For the more energetic there are also tennis courts and a horse riding centre.

Swimming pool facilities:
There are 2 large swimming pools with spectacular views 1 minute away on foot. The swimming pools complex is a large private enclosure for the exclusive enjoyment of Montecalas' residents. One of the pools is a beautiful infinity pool with a childrens pool area and play area, and the second pool is of Olympic size and has the supervision of a full-time life guard all throughout the summer. There are extensive well-cared sunbathing areas with sunloungers, showers and a bistro which offers food all day long and evening entertainment. Their menu is in both in English & Spanish. It is also equipped with poolside WiFi internet connection.

About the local area:
The Northern Costa Blanca has spectacular mountain ranges bordered by the Mediterranean Sea. It is green all year round with lush vegetation of lemons, orange groves, almond, olives and grapevines. It's been rated by the World Health Organisation as one of the healthiest places with over 325 days of sunshine/year.

Cumbre del Sol is an exclusive residential area. There are several walking routes, all with viewpoints for some glorious and impressive views. On the Cumbre is a National Park with stunning walks where wild flowers, rosemary and thyme grow in abundance. There are beautiful hidden bays along the coastline, most of which you can walk down to. On a clear day you can even see Ibiza. Moraig, the closest beach, is only a 5 minutes drive. It's a small, picturesque cove that has a secretive pebbly beach with undersea caves that are explored by scuba divers. It is used almost entirely by local residents - facilities here include a small beach-bar and the hire of sunbeds and parasols (in high season). The fantastic and family friendly beach of El Portet is only a 10 minute drive. The beautiful town of Moraira , also a 10 min drive, is in a pretty bay with its own marina, sandy beaches, shops, restaurants, pretty promenade and shaded park. It has its fair share of fiestas, the most famous being the Moors and Christians in June. Calpe, with it's golden beaches and dramatic volcanic boulder, known as Penon de Ifach, is 1/2 hour drive.

A must visit is the spectacular castle of Guadalest and also worth seeing are Denia Castle, Algar Falls, Col de Rates, Val de Orb, Altea, Valencia, Alicante, Javea, Benidorm and the Jalon Valley.

Golf:
Within 7 minutes drive of the apartment is Javea Golf Club situated between Moraira and Javea and is open all year round. The course is a 9 hole, par 72 and 3,035 metres. The course is easy to play and relatively flat. Other facilities include: driving range, putting green, heated swimming pool, club bar and restaurant. La Sella Golf Club is 15 minutes drive inland near the village of Jesus Pobre. The course has 18 holes, par 72 and is 6,029 metres. The course although flat has many trees and water obstacles. This is a private members club open to the public. Facilities include: driving range, putting green, motorised trolleys, club bar, lounge bar, restaurant and swimming pool. Both Javea and La Sella clubs have tennis and squash courts. Within a half hour drive north in Oliva is Oliva Nova Golf Club, designed by Seve Ballesteros. This challenging course has 18 holes, par 72 and 7,051 metres. The club has a shop, driving range, restaurant, swimming pool and fitness centre.

Other Activities:
You can enjoy go-karting at the AV Kart Center, Moriara, and scuba diving at the Scuba Moriara, a PADI 5 Star Dive Centre, or the Mermaid Diving Centre, both in Moraira. The L'Oceanographic in Valencia contains the largest aquarium in all of Europe, and is worth a visit. There are theme Parks nearby including Terra Mitica Fun Park and Aqualandia.

Notes
The property is thoroughly cleaned and inspected before each new arrival, if requested, arrangements can be made for a mid-week cleaning service at an extra charge. A 25% non-refundable deposit is required on confirmation of the booking. The remainder together with a refundable €200 damages deposit needs to be paid 4 weeks before the booking. The final clean is €60. The damages deposit will be credited back to holiday makers on their return after a final check of the property is carried out.

Special rates may be available for late bookings. Long-term rentals are welcomed and special rates apply.

Occupation from 14:00 pm on arrival day until 10:00 am on leaving day.

If payment by PayPal a surcharge of 4% will be added. If you prefer to pay by bank transfer, your bank may charge you a fee (variable) for the transfer.

Chris and Geny are two friends who met in London in 1996. Chris is from Australia and is now living with his family in London, Geny is from Spain and lives with her family in Madrid. Both have a love of the Costa Blanca, and visit the property with their young families whenever they can.
