Sanlúcar de Barrameda is a synonym for tradition and gastronomy in Spain. The city is located on the Costa de la Luz, where the river Guadalquivir meets the Atlantic Ocean. Across the river you will find the National nature park Doñana, Europe's largest protected nature area. Together with Jerez de la Frontera and el Puerto de Santa Maria, Sanlúcar forms the so-called sherry triangle. Sanlúcar is mainly known for the manzanilla. This is a type of sherry wine which perfectly suits seafood which is daily brought into harbor in this fishing town.

The inhabitants of Sanlúcar are famous for their hospitality and friendliness. The more than 100 restaurants and bars of the town (60,000 inhabitants) are open all year round thanks to its climate and size. Sanlúcar is also famous for flamenco - besides gastronomy. There are flamenco shows all year round and you could even get lessons! Sanlúcar has two beautiful sandy beaches, la Calzada and la Jara, which are more than 3 km long in total. Barrio Bajo is fishing village by origin. You will find the low, white houses and narrow streets here with the central square Plaza del Cabildo, the beating heart of the place, here. On its edge, there is the Bajo de Guia neighborhood. This is where the old fishing area faces the sea. In one of the many typical Spanish restaurants you can see the sun set in the Atlantic Ocean, while enjoying a manzanilla and a delicious meal.
