The ground floor consists of a cosy lounge with satellite TV and Bang and Olufsen sound system. Downstairs there is also a small bedroom with single bed. There is a good selection of books and CDs for you to use. On the first floor is a bright, well equipped kitchen/dining room which has a small balcony overlooking the street.

Also on this floor is a double bedroom with fitted wardrobe and air conditioning unit together with a brand new en-suite shower room. Both the bedroom and the shower room enjoy stunning views of the hills and olive groves surrounding Olvera. Stairs from the kitchen lead to a large terrace which has amazing views. On the terrace is a large bathroom with full suite.

Despite being in the middle of the town, the house is quiet and peaceful and as both bedrooms are at the back of the house, there is very little traffic noise to disturb your sleep.

Olvera is known as “the King of the Pueblo Blancos” (white towns) and it was declared a Protected Area of Artistic and Historical Importance in 1983. It is a friendly town with a population of around 10,000 and has all the amenities you will need to enjoy your holiday including numerous shops, banks, internet cafe, bars and restaurants. There is also a municipal swimming pool and bar which is open during the summer months.

The town is the perfect base for you to explore this beautiful unspoilt area of Andalucia. There are many places to visit within an hour’s drive including Seville, Jerez de la Frontera, Ronda and Antequera. If you don’t mind driving a little further you can visit Cordoba, Cadiz or Malaga. Closer to home, the stunning villages of Grazalema, Zahara de la Sierra, Setenil de las Bodegas and Montajaque are well worth exploring.

The countryside is varied and stunning with olive groves, rolling hills, lakes, mountains and woodland. Olvera is also the starting point for the Via Verde de la Sierra (green way) one of the many disused railway tracks across Andalucia which have been renovated for use as walking, cycling and horse-riding routes. Bicycle hire is available from the hotel at the start of the route, or you can enjoy an escorted ride on one of the horses from the riding stables next to the hotel.

We live in Duquesa which is down on the coast, about a 2 hour drive from Olvera, and we both work in Gibraltar. We own a purebred Spanish horse and I enjoy riding at weekends (no time in the week unfortunately!). We've lived in Spain for since 2006 years and we love it!

Olvera Retreat

This property contains everything you need for a short or long stay including an eclectic mix of music and books to keep you entertained for any days/nights you decide to stay indoors. It has a decent little kitchen with all the equipment you would need to prepare a decent meal if this is your thing. It is a lovely little house with fabulous views from the roof terrace which had just been tiled before our visit. The road it is in is very quiet and pretty clean but quite a steep climb. There is small supermarket just up the hill so not far to go for supplies. Olvera has a good number of bars and places to eat which are all very reasonably priced. The number of beautiful places to visit nearby are too many to put down. Wether you turn left or right or drive for 10 minutes or 1 hour you will surely be amazed at the ladscape in this area.

Charming, friendly location and wonderful accomodations

One of the most wonderful things about our 10 week stay was how friendly the local people were. Casa Andalus was everything we had hoped for and was perfect for our stay. There is a wide choice of resturants and bars (tapas) within a short walking distance and Corduba, Ronda, Seville and Granada can be visited by car in one day trips if you are short of time. This is real Spain so don't expect tourist shops, postcards and english spoken everywhere, but if you want to visit Spain and not just sit on the beach, this is for you, and if you really want to go to the beach, a little over an hours drive will get you there!

Authentic Spain and great value for money

A lovely little house in the heart of authentic Spain. Olvera is the real Spain not touristy, would brush up on your Spanish! Great value and some lovely bars & food places on the doorstep. Having a restored castle & cathedral and lots of shops can relax for a few days around town. Ronda only 40 mins and other pueblos closer still.Appreciated the air con in main bedroom and roof terrace lovely in the evenings.2 bathrooms also a bonus would sleep 3/4. Need a car but roads were excellent and so quiet compared to UK. Close enought to Seville, Cordoba a must. Granada also only 2.5 hrs. 1.5 hrs from Malaga airport. Would recomend
