This apartment is located in a gated community, surrounded by 28,000 square meters of subtropical gardens, with swimming pool areas and lighted walkways for your enchanting evening strolls. While the beach, shops, restaurants and bars are just a short 5 to 10 minute walk away, you will still enjoy a tranquil and quiet apartment, with absolutely no street noise.

La Cala de Mijas, located in the heart of Costa del Sol, has something for everyone. Whether you are on a family vacation with toddlers, on a golf holiday with friends, or simply enjoy being able to walk to romantic restaurants, retail stores, bars, grocery stores, playgrounds, historical landmarks, or the beaches, this is the town for you! “La Cala” has the perfect mix of restaurants from around the world, as well as local tapas, and the international clientele to go with it.
La Cala is well connected to nearby towns and cities, - just 10 minutes from Fuengirola and Marbella, and 20 minutes from Malaga and its international airport. Public transportation is available from the airport to within 3 minutes walking distance from the apartment.

For your convenience you have access to an underground parking space, as well street-level parking. Other extras, available to you free of charge, include: high speed DSL Internet, a fixed safe for your passports and valuables, baby and toddler friendly features (see below), pool and beach toys for the kids, as well as a pair of bicycles for your exploration of this magnificent coastal region.
The air conditioned (both heating and cooling) apartment is furnished to be your second home, and not just another rental, with all the features you would expect to find in your neighbor’s house. The first room on your right is the fully stocked kitchen, for those of us who love cooking. All appliances are brand new, and include a dishwasher, as well as a washer and dryer. A small kitchen bar offers a place to hang out for a drink while the food is cooking. Straight ahead leads to the dining and living room. The living room has everything you need to entertain your friends and family, with a 42” TV, sound system, Playstation 3 with a Bluray and DVD player, SKY Satellite receiver, movies, board games, cards, books, and a sofa-bed that can comfortably sleep two. On your left is a bedroom with a garden view window, closet, two twin beds, and a twin bed doubler, if you choose to put the two beds together to form a king. Next to it is a bathroom with a marble shower with views of the garden. Ahead to your left is the master bedroom, with its own walk-in closets, and an in suite master bathroom, enjoying a double marble sink, and a candle-lined tub, for your moments of complete relaxation. Accessed from either the master bedroom or the living room is the over-sized terrace / balcony. A portion of the terrace is enclosed with fold-away glass walls, and houses the large outdoor dining table for 8, as well as the optional 3rd bedroom (sofa-bed for 2 with glass and heavy curtain walls), which can also be enjoyed as a day-room away from the direct daytime sun. The terrace also features a private spa / hot tube / Jacuzzi, from where you can enjoy a bottle of wine, while watching the last of the sun’s rays fade. The terrace has views of both the sea and the mountains.

In the interest of making the holiday as relaxing and enjoyable as possible for those traveling with babies and toddlers, we have gone the extra mile for you, by providing the items you need the most, and which can be such a chore to transport. These items include: extra bibs, sterilizers, a cot, folding high chair, child-proof plugs, a folding baby bath, baby monitors, push chair / stroller, and a universal insect net to protect your sensitive little ones.

There are so many facilities in the local area that you will never run out of things to do, with or without a car. La Cala de Mijas still has that small town charm and feel, yet the sophistication and amenities of a modern city. Every Wednesday and Saturday you can walk to the local market, where you can purchase anything from fresh produce, to clothing, jewelry, and everything in between. There are Irish Bars, English Bars and Spanish Bars, all within a few blocks of each other. You will find restaurants and retail stores up and down the narrow, cobble stone streets. A 10 minute walk will take you to an amazing beach, with miles of the Costa del Sol’s finest sand. A pirate ship playground is located along the beach walk promenade, and it is a big hit with the kids, when they need a break from the ocean. Two modern grocery stores are within easy walking distance of home. Take either public transportation or a car for a 10 minute drive to the enormous local shopping mall (Parque Miramar), with over 160 shops (including the likes of H&M, Zara, and Blanco) and a multiplex theater with 12 cinema screens.

La Cala de Mijas was once home to the Moors, and you can still tour the many castles, walls and towers that are left behind as a part of Spain’s rich and vibrant heritage. The apartment is situated in the Golf Valley, with 9 excellent courses, including The famous La Cala Golf, Mijas Golf, Mira Flores Golf, La Siesta Golf, La Noria Golf, Santana Golf, Calanova Golf, and El Chapatral Club de Golf. For those who enjoy horse racing, do not miss a wonderful and exciting day at the Hipodromo Costa del Sol, just a 5 minute drive away.

Notes
Budget Airlines: Malaga International Airport is the closest airport, only 20 miles away from the property, and is served by many airlines, with the most flights flown by budget airlines such as Ryanair, EasyJet, Vueling, Iberia, Air Berlin, Norwegian, and Monarch. Gibraltar Airport is another option, about 60 minutes away, with service by EasyJet and Monarch as the biggest players. If you fly to Gibraltar, you will need to schedule a rental car (see below.)

Taxi: Taxis line up outside the arrivals hall. Rates are posted on the wall which lists destinations and fares, and it is currently showing up €48. Elsewhere, taxis can be flagged down in the street or found at designated ranks, and show a green light when available. The journey to the apartment takes approximately 20 minutes.

Bus: Buses towards Marbella depart from a stop outside the arrivals hall half-hourly (6.30am to 11.30pm), and will have a mandatory stop in Cala de Mijas. The buses are operated by Autobuses Portillo and cost less than €7 one way. You can buy tickets ahead of time at the link above.

Train/Bus Combo: The new underground train station in Terminal 3. You can buy a ticket on the train. Trains run half-hourly to Fuengirola to the west. From there you need to walk less than 70 yards to the bus station across the street, and catch the bus towards Marbella. Go to their site to purchase a ticket ahead of time.
Car Rental: It is highly recommended to schedule the car rental ahead of time, to get the best online deals. You'll have a hard time beating Economy Car Hire, but can always try other sites such as your airline's site.

I was born and raised close to Stockholm, Sweden. I have always been interested in, and riding, horses. I moved to California when I was 23, and have lived there since. My husband and I go back to Europe at least a couple of times per year, making sure to include a trip to La Cala de Mijas, Spain, each and every time.

A Great Golf Getaway

Thank you for a great stay in your great apartment. It was a perfect base for the golf courses we visited. All the mod cons and very spacious. The jacuzzi was an added bonus and certainly got used after a hard day on the course. Thanks again!

Everything we hoped for & more!!

The apartment was just as pictured on the website, absolutely perfect. We stayed for 4 days, 3 nights and had a wonderful time (5 ladies on a birthday celebration). The apartment was very clean and well kept. It had everything you could wish for and was a real home from home. The quilts and pillows were the softest I have had on holiday and made it a struggle to get out of bed, or was that the late nights!!! The hot tub was perfect and we spent the first evening just chilling in the lovely hot water drinking wine and chatting. The kitchen was so well equipped that we shopped at the local market and shops and cooked all our own meals. We sat at the table on the balcony to eat just chilling and chatting with the lovely view of the sea in the distance. The location was perfect with just a 10 minute stroll to the beautiful beach and a mere 5 minutes to a small selection of bars and a nightclub. The town was lovely, not too big or commercial and we had a lovely stay. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend both the apartment and the area. The owners, Sophie & Einar, responded to our email queries promptly in spite of the time difference and provided first class information on everything. I will definitely be booking to stay here again and can't wait to go back.

Fantastic apartment

We lived in the apartment from 6 to 13th of March. Since we were not there for a beach holiday, we used the apartment as a base for our daily car trips in the area. We drove many trips into the country, where the nature is very varied and sometimes spectacular, and there were many opportunities for hiking. We also visited many picturesque and interesting cities. The apartment was perfect for us. It lacked nothing, was clean and welcoming, and well furnished! It was also very nice to have breakfast on the bar stools at the kitchen counter, while the evenings were spent on the porch. Since we had a car, it was very good that we could use the parking space in the basement. Although we like to work out and hike, it was nice to have the lift that brought us up and down to the parking lot, as we usually had a few things to carry. We also inspected one of the outdoor pools, even though we were not interested in swimming. It looked inviting, for those who want to take a dip or relax and sunbathe. In a small house there were toilets, and the sunbeds were available so you can help yourself, if you needed it. The pool area was also completely undisturbed, with grass, plants and palm trees. Green lawns and healthy plants were all over, and walkways clean and easy to access - even with a baby stroller. There must be a gardener who takes pride in keeping the grounds clean and neat! We had a fantastic week, and would love to come back another time! Thank you, Sophie and Einar!

Really pleased with our accommodation choice!

I know that is it not easy to choose a place to stay in a town you do not know especially in a foreign country, internet could be very helpful but confusing also... we were lucky to find Oasis Cala de Mijas since we got to live there for 46 days! Thanks to the owners Sophie and Einar who were so helpful and kind to us, we enjoyed their apartment thoroughly. It had everything we needed, it was like a second home to us, comfortable (great bed and linen) and practical with a very well equipped kitchen, indoor parking, basement locker to store our golf clubs and where there was also 2 bikes!. We were proud to have our new European friends over, everybody loved it especially for a drink or diner on the terrace! Mountains, ocean, beaches, incredible blue sky, too many golf courses and restaurants to choose from... so many sites to visit, needless to say that the location was great, very central to travel by car to many beautiful cities and pueblos of the Costa Del Sol (there are also buses that connects major towns on the coast as well) and we could even walk to the beach and to La Cala de Mijas which has shops, groceries and many restaurants. Our vacation was a success and we are certainly looking into going back since we fell in love with the Costa Del Sol. We would unhesitatingly recommend this place to anyone contemplating a vacation in that part of Spain.

Home for Home Luxury Apartment

A superb Luxury apartment with every conceivable item for a comfortable stay. Well equiped kitchen with top of the range white goods and plenty of crockery and glasses etc for a family of 8. Modern dining area and sitting room, again with lovely comfortable safa and chairs. Top of the range TV with HD, Humax satelite system and playstation 3, enough to keep the kids and a few adults happy. Channels all in English. All bedrooms were an excellent size and modern with excellent mattresses. Kids will love the huge bunkbeds. Main bedroom also has a en suite with a power shower and HOT running water which is a novelty in Spain. Then there is the extension room which is excellent for guests who want a breeze running through the room, although the air conditioning is excellent throughout the whole apartment. This room also has the Glass curtains which open fully to let in the air and light and a fantastic view of the sea. What better than a long day on the beach and coming back to the Hot Tub and have a large gin and tonic. Absolute HEAVEN !! The free parking space was also a boon and had the addition of secure parking and a security guard patrolling the premises 24 hours. The owners were easily on hand by phone and email and kept us updated throughout the whole booking process. I would highly reccommend this apartment to anyone looking for a home from home that has everything required for a fantastic stay and is within walking distance of the lovely town and beach area. La Canasta cafe is excellent for beers and a snack, Grill de la Cala was great for dinner in the evening, very friendly staff and very good value for money. The small town has plenty of bars, restaurants, banks and supermarkets for anyone who does not want to leave the area or do not have their own transport.
