Our fully renovated farmhouse is over 100 years old and is situated in a quiet rural position on the unspoilt coastline of Cantabria.

The property sits on over 13 acres and the grounds have been landscaped to provide plenty of space to relax and enjoy uninterrupted views of the Cantabrian Sea and surrounding countryside.

We are within walking distance is the medieval town of Santillana del Mar and the Altamira National Museum which is considered to be one of Europe's leading museums of prehistory.

Locally you'll also discover any number of colourful fishing villages and gorgeous sandy beaches blissfully free of crowds.

We are a family of four and originally from Berkshire, England. We also live within the property and we're always happy to offer help and advice during your stay whilst, at the same time, respecting your privacy.

Great House, Great Views, Great People!!!

Our apartment was big, renovated and nicely decorated. Beautiful views from all windows, comfortable bed, good size cozy kitchen, nice dining area. It even had an outdoor space to sit and have meals or drink tea and watch Cantabria beautiful sunsets. The air quality in Cantabria is unbelievable! Owners were helpful, kind and very positive people. Used the apartment as a base to see local attractions. There were Hypermarkets within 10-minute ride, found food market in Comillias. Dozens of place to eat, Santillana Del Mar village close (walked to it). This place was very serene, people were kind and relaxed, were able to recharge ourselves before returning to a “go-go-go” lifestyle of Silicon Valley. Very happy with our experience, would stay again.

EL CHAPARRAL, 2 BEDROOM APARTMENT

The apartment forms part of a larger property located close to ‘Santillana del Mar’. The owners, Robert & Becky also live at the property and are always on hand to provide help and advice. The apartment is large, tastefully furnished and very comfortable. It has two bedrooms, bathroom with shower/bath, lounge and modern kitchen which includes a 4 ring hob, oven, microwave, washing machine and fridge. There is also a double sofa bed. The house is not overlooked by anyone and is very quiet and peaceful. There is plenty of space to roam around and admire the view. Our 2 children hit it of straight away with Rob and Becky’s kids and enjoyed the garden toys, bikes and trampoline. There is no traffic or water to worry about and it was great not having to worry about them getting into to much trouble. Our dog also appreciated the space to run around. Our hosts were more than happy to provide help and advice on where to go and what to see. They even laid on a weekend barbeque which we were invited to. Great fun was had by all. They were also aware of our privacy and did not over impose. ‘Santillana’ is only a stones throw away and it only takes 15 minutes to walk there. The village is simply stunning. We spent all day wondering around admiring the medieval buildings and ‘Colegiate de Santillana’ church. We also enjoyed a very good ‘menu del dia’ which is the most economical way to eat in Spain. The nearest beach is a 10 minute drive away although you are spoilt for choice as there are dozens of beaches doted along the Cantabrian coastline. Our favorite was ‘Playa del Luaña’ which was only 15 minutes away. The weather was surprisingly good for this time of year. We only had a couple of days of rain. Other places worth a visit are the ‘Picos de Europa’, ‘Cabarceno’ wildlife park, ‘Altamira’ cave museum and the ‘Guggenheim’ modern art museum in Bilbao. All in all we can’t recommend this property any higher. Great accommodation, great hosts, great beaches and fantastic food!!!
