APARTMENT DETAILS
The upstairs features a bathroom and large bedroom with two single beds - that can also be made-up as a double - and small single (camp) bed in separate areas. Down the spiral stairs is a kitchen and lounge containing a double sofa bed and dining area. Each level has its own private balcony facing south towards the sea. There is satellite TV offering the all the major UK channels. The beach is only 30m away and, a little further on, is the spectacular pool and its associated bar/restaurant offering excellent dining and entertainment. The resort also boasts numerous other restaurants and bars, a mini-market, internet facilities, launderette, childrens club & play area, gym and indoor pool & leisure complex (membership included in price). Entertainment is provided in the summer months.
RESORT & AREA
Its possible you may never actually leave the wonderful Dona Lola complex during your stay. Quiet and relaxing amidst tropical gardens, it boasts shops, restaurants, bars, and a childrens play area and there is a magnificent outdoor pool and a beach. The Leisure Complex (membership included in the price) contains a gym, sauna, spa, indoor swimming pool, tennis courts and a snooker room. Internet facilities are available.
An alternative to relaxing in the resort would be to explore the coast either east to the lively resorts of Fuengirola, Benalmadena and Torremolinos or to the city of Malaga with its Picasso museum; or west to Marbella, Puerto Banus, Estepona and Gibraltar (from where you can take a day-trip to Morocco). Calahondas "El Zoco" centre provides the visitor with bars, restaurants of many cuisines, shops and business facilities. For golfers, the area has approximately 35 fine courses (the area is also known as the Costa Del Golf). These are all bookable at the resorts Golf Office.
In summary, Dona Lola and its area has all you need for a perfect holiday.
LOCATION
Calahonda is on the N340 Costa Del Sol Highway, a half hour drive from Malaga airport (you can also fly to Gibraltar, Seville or Granada but the transfer is longer). Our agent in Spain offers an excellent pick-up service from Malaga airport for a similar price to a taxi. In the other direction, Marbella and Peurto Banus are a 10 minute drive. A short drive inland takes you to the authentic Spain. The nearby town of Mijas offers horseracing, bullfighting and spectacular views.
There are plenty of taxis and an efficient bus service running along the coast - stopping at Calahonda - down to Estepona via Marbella.

Your apartment has a balcony you could spend hours on - and we did, and the Dona Lola facilities must be the best on the Costa del Sol, both outside for sunny days or inside on the odd cloudy day. Although we had the odd day out, the rest of our time was spent on site, either from an entertainment point of view or eating and drinking.
