This beautiful second floor apartment is on the exclusive,(new for 2004), small development of Villas de Frente Marino, just two minutes walk from the picturesque marina at Puerto Thomas Maestre in La Manga del Mar Menor on the Costa Calida.
Only minutes walk from the seas and beaches and all the local amenities, with its own communal swimming pool and gardens this apartment will provide you with everything that you could wish for to make a perfect relaxing holiday in the sun.
Inside, the apartment has been furnished to a very high luxurious standard with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large living/dining room, kitchen with utility room and a choice of two large balconies each with their own special views.
The living/dining area has two comfortable three seater sofas, coffee table, TV unit with English satellite TV, a DVD player and a stereo. In the drawer of the unit there is also a few family games and some local information booklets for your use. Also there is a large dining table and six comfortable chairs for inside dining.
There are patio doors leading onto the large balcony which is large enough for an array of outdoor furniture including a table and six chairs, two reclining sun-loungers and two small drinks tables. The perfect place to relax , enjoy the sunshine and the views to the marina and the Mediterranean.
The large master bedroom has a king sized bed with bedside tables, tall drawer unit, fitted wardrobes with drawers and safe, and patio doors onto the same balcony as the living room.
Both the twin bedrooms have twin beds, bedside tables and fitted wardrobes with drawers and patio doors leading onto the second balcony which overlooks the swimming pool, gardens and the Mar Menor which has superb sunsets.
Each of the bedrooms are tastefully decorated with their own individual style and colour theme.
The stylish modern kitchen is well equipped with ceramic hob, extractor fan, oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee maker, juicer and fridge/freezer. The pale wood units and marble worktops provide this kitchen with ample cupboard space in a practical layout and comes with all the necessary equipment ie. saucepans, crockery and cutlery needed for six people.
Off the kitchen is a utility room with washing machine, ironing board and iron.
Both of the bathrooms have a bath, shower over bath with screens, wash basin and vanity unit with spotlit mirrors, toilet and bidet.
The apartment is professionally cleaned before your arrival and bed linen and towels are provided for use within the apartment.
The apartment is on the second floor serviced with stairs or a lift (used only by 7 other apartments), the main entrance door downstairs is opened with a key or intercom system.
Outside there are gardens and a large swimming pool with a smaller section for children. A paved central walkway with benches leads to the promenade along the Mar Menor, (Small Sea), towards the Thomas Maestre Marina where you will find a multitude of bars, cafes, and restaurants with exceptionally varied menus in which to enjoy your evening meal or drinks. The panoramic views and spectacular sunsets here are not to be missed.
Just minutes walk from both the beaches of the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean you can enjoy two different seas here. The Mar Menor is calm, gentle and warm (in the summer it can reach temperatures of up to 30 degrees) but if you get too warm there you can simply pick up your towel and walk two hundred yards and find yourself on the beautiful white beaches of the Mediterranean with its cooling breezes.
There is a supermarket, bank and chemist just around the corner or there is a local bus service, which runs up and down the “strip” at regular intervals, where you can enjoy more shops, restaurants, cafes and bars.
Your holiday on the Costa Calida can be as relaxing or as active as you wish, the climate is ideal for sun worshippers who like to laze in the sun and relax, but also there is a wealth of water sports or other activities to choose from and the year round warm climate means that you can enjoy them at any time of the year.
The La Manga peninsular is locally known as the “strip”, 18kms long and in some parts as narrow as 100m it reaches all the way back up the coastline of Costa Calida and almost rejoins the mainland at San Pedro Del Pinatar, where there is a nature reserve which is a veritable paradise for birds such as the Pink Flamingos. This peninsular creates a geographic and environmental area unique in Europe with an excellent climate throughout the year, on average 300 days of sunshine and a summertime temperature of 26 degrees, even the winter months are mild and sunny allowing you to enjoy the wide range of outdoor sports and activities which range across the board, there’s something for everyone.
Along the coast lines on either side there are many water sport activities for you to participate in, kite surfing, wind surfing, sailing, swimming, scuba diving, jet skis, water skiing, and pedalos. There are many local schools which teach these activities no matter what your abilities, whether you’re a complete novice or an expert.
Local Yacht clubs will allow you to charter boats from sailing dinghys to motor boats skippered by professionals.
Scuba diving is extremely popular here and one of the best places in Europe to dive is in Cabo de Palos where you can take a boat trip out to one of many underwater archaeological sites or sunken ships and explore. Diving clubs and schools abound at Cabo de Palos and La Manga and these offer courses throughout the year and rent any equipment you may need.
Apart from water based activities there are a number of tennis courts along the “strip” which are open to the public all year round. Also at La Manga Club they run coaching schools and tournaments.
Along the road out of La Manga towards the little village of Los Belones there is a full size Go-Kart track with go-karts for all age groups, from young children to adults. There is only one main road along the strip but they have built in a cycle lane for the safety of anyone who wished to hire bicycles from one of the many hire shops. There are also many cycle tracks and routes about the surrounding countryside for you to enjoy.
For those of you who enjoy a round of golf or two you will be delighted with the choice of courses in this area. At La Manga Club there are no less than three top quality 18 hole golf courses each of which present a different challenge, where they have hosted some major tournaments in recent years such as the Spanish Open. All the courses are surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Also at La Manga Club you can play tennis, bowls, football, crazy golf for the family with younger children or enjoy their many restaurants, bars and shops. All this is just a short ten minute drive away in the car.
Other golf courses in the such as Villamartin, Campoamor and Las Ramblas are all within 30 minutes drive.
There is also horse riding at nearby Los Belones where you can take lessons or go trekking in the surrounding hills.
The Mar Menor is a large salt water lake almost entirely sealed off from the Medierranean by the peninsular of La Manga. The largest salt water lake in Europe it is only 7m at its deepest point and along its shores it has an average depth of only 0.5m making it extremely safe for children. This warm and tranquil lake also has other health giving benefits, a natural swimming pool with warm temperatures it also has a high saline content which is therapeutic for sufferers of arthritis, rheumatism and skin conditions when they coat themselves in the black mud which can be found at points along the shores.
In the surrounding area there are many places of interest to visit, the beautiful city of Cartagena has a beautiful harbour to stroll round surrounded by hills each of which bears the ruins of Roman forts. In the city itself there is a recently discovered Roman ampitheatre which is being restored, many architecturally beautiful buildings and of course many shops, restaurants and cafes. Cartagena has been a city of immense Naval and Military importance over the years as a result of which there are many castles and forts to visit and usually some warships in the harbour to look at.
Similarly the historic city of Murcia is only 30 minutes drive away and well worth a visit.
More locally, Cabo de Palos is a delightful fishing village with some lovely fish restaurants, the local market here is on Sunday and offers a great variety of stalls selling anything from clothes, leather and hand crafted goods to fresh fruit and vegetables. If you like markets there is one every day of the week somewhere in the region.
Los Belones, another market village just ten minutes drive away has many wonderful restaurants whichever national cuisine you prefer, Indian, Chinese, Japanese or Italian. This is true no matter where you choose to visit in this area for restaurants, you could eat a different cuisine every night of the week.

How to get there;- You have a choice of two international airports to fly into, Alicante which is 1 hour 10 minutes easy driving straight down the motorways, or Murcia which is a very easy 30 minute drive to La Manga. Airlines which fly into these airports are ;-
