This beautiful 3 double bedroom, 2 bathroom, 2 storey, house is situated in a quiet, select residential area within easy walking distance (500 meters) of the wonderful Blue Flag La Barrosa beach and the convenience of local shops, bars and restaurants.

This high-end holiday rental property is emphatically not part of a holiday complex. It is a short walk to the beach which is a real bonus at all times, but especially in high season and weekends when an advertised “10 minute drive to the beach” from properties further inland can take many times that long. The house is well furnished and equipped to accommodate up to 6 adults in absolute comfort. There are also travel cots for babies. Full amenities are provided; these include heating, air conditioning, Spanish digital & UK satellite TV (Sky, wireless internet access, dishwasher and washing machine. Designed to be “a home away from home”, it is ideally suited to holidays throughout the year. Costs are all-inclusive (electricity, gas, and cleaning are included in the price). Fresh linen and clean towels are provided weekly. You will be met by our local agent who speaks fluent English, German and Spanish. She lives next door and is available to provide advice and assistance if required.

Immediately behind the house is a private park with a children’s play area which is for the exclusive use of local residents. There is a well maintained garden on three sides of the house which is fully enclosed providing privacy and a safe environment for young children. At the front there is a large covered patio by the main entrance which gets the afternoon and evening sunshine. Also at the front is the balcony outside the main bedroom. At the back there is another large patio with a pergola which overlooks the park. Cars can be safely parked on the street outside the house.

La Barrosa beach is a glorious 7 km stretch of golden sand which is renowned as one of the finest beaches in Southern Spain. La Barrosa itself is a small, lively seaside resort about 8 km south of Chiclana de la Frontera. It has a seafront promenade with restaurants, cafes and bars and a main street with more restaurants and bars as well as shops, banks and other services - all within easy walking distance. The beach gets progressively wilder and less busy the further south you go. There are many other wonderful beaches and sheltered coves within easy driving distance.

Golf at several first class courses, horse riding, swimming, fishing, tennis, sailing, surfing (kite, wind & Malibu) are just some of the many outdoor activities readily to hand.

Access to the area is easy via a number of airports - the nearest, Jerez, is about 40 minutes drive away, whilst Seville (90 minutes), Gibraltar (90 minutes) and Malaga (just over 2 hours) and Faro in Portugal (3 hours) are all convenient and are served by a number of different airlines.

The area has not suffered from the over-development that characterises some of the other Spanish Costas despite having some of the most spectacular beaches in Spain. Many of the beaches are backed, not by ribbons of development, but by sand dunes, marshland, farmland and dense pine forests. With an average of 3200 hours of sunshine per year (the highest in Spain) and cooling sea breezes off the Atlantic ocean, it is a haven for holidays at all times of the year.

Between late June and early September, the Costa de la Luz is still largely the preserve of Spanish holidaymakers. Out of high summer season there are few tourists, though the weather in Spring and Autumn is often perfect. As part of the busy provincial town of Chiclana de la Frontera, La Barrosa has a permanent local population which ensures that many of the facilities remain open throughout the year.

La Barrosa, together with nearby Novo Sancti Petri and Chiclana, has all the shops, restaurants, bars cafes and other facilities needed for a family holiday. The ancient and historic city of Cadiz is about 25 km to the north. The increasingly trendy town of Conil De La Frontera is a 15 min drive to the south. Further afield, Seville, Tarifa, Gibraltar and even Tangiers in Morocco are all easily reached on day trips.

Golf - For golfers, the excellent Ballesteros 36 hole course at Novo Sancti Petri is one of a number of good courses in the immediate vicinity. There are a large number of other very good golf courses in the area (Benalup, Costa Ballena (Olazabal), Montenmedio, Montecastillo (Nicklaus), El Puerto (Pinero), San Roque (Thomas), Sherry Golf Jerez, Sotogrande (Trent Jones), Valderrama (Trent Jones) to name but a few).

House in Chiclana

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay- the beach was wonderful and was the highlight of our stay. The house was very clean and comfortable. The website was fantastic and so easy to use and very informative so we will use it again without hesitation. We were a little disappointed with the agent who looks after the house for the owner - we would have liked to ask a few questions about the locality , but apart from the initial contact to hand over the keys and show us the house, there was no other contact ,despite living next door , not even when we were leaving.However we loved the holiday and will return to the area .One other point I would like to make is that this property was described as a villa- it is in fact a 3 bedroom semi=detached house and having rented many villas previously, this property should not be described as a villa. It is excellently maintained anc very clean but should be described as a semi-detached property.

We ask the customers not to hesitate to ask the agent if they have questions and ask the agent not to be overly intrusive with the Customers - this has not seemed to be an issue before, but noted. As regards house description - the Spain-holiday site does not have an option for a semi-detached house / villa. The villa description is the closest that applies - houses in Spain are generally described as villas. That said, my own website clearly states Casa Zalamea is a 3 bedroom semi-detached house. There is a photograph of the house on both sites, so there should be no confusion.

It was a great holiday, which started just when I wrote my first letter to the owner. He was really nice and helpfull - we got all the information about the area and the house, all directions was written and sent to us. He has a wonderful website about the house. We was met by the agent whose family lives next door, everything was showed and explained. We got many recomendations about what we can see and do in this part of Spain. hope we'll return here later with our children.
