Stay in the middle of nature, winecultur and nearby the sea.
Newly built finca - country house from 2009 with its own sun terrace with a fantastic view to the mountains and the valley with vines, almonds, olives and fruit trees. The house is fully equipped for 6 persons. A quiet place but with a lot of things to do.
The house, amenities and surroundings
The house is placed 5 minutes’ walk to the village Canalosa with a little supermarket restaurants and bars. The beach – Santa Pola – is 45 minutes’ away by car. The same distance as to the airport of Alicante and Murcia. 10 minutes’ away in car you will find Hondan de las Nieves and Hondon de las Frailes, where you will find all kinds of shops, doctor etc. 20 minutes’ away you will find the big town Elche with shops ad libitum including Cortes Ingles the most prestigious Spanish department store. In Elche you will also find the biggest palm forest in Europe, an old castle etc. 50 minutes’ away by car you will find the seafront city of Alicante with its beaches, yacht club, castle, museums etc.
House - Vineyard
The house is in Spain a so called FINCA – vineyard. It has got a living room with fireplace, fully equipped kitchen with washing machine, 3 bedrooms and 2 baths one of them with a washing machine and a tumble drier. The house has got its own sun terrace of 40 m2 on the roof and around the front of the house there is a shady roofed in terrace. Furthermore there is a 20 m2 glass closed terrace to the north. The plot is very big 10,000 m2 surrounded by vineyards, almonds, olives, fruit trees etc. Very pleasant.
Nature, nature, nature …
From the house there are magnificent views to the 1 km high mountains changing with the sun light all through the day. The mountains are a Nature Park with a lot of birds and wild animals including wild boar. Really a place for trekking. In the surrounding vineyards and almond groves there are a lot of small roads and paths for walking and biking.
Wine
Both in Frailes and Nieves you will find bodegas with wine from the surrounding vineyards. The wines are very good and unbelievably cheap - 1 to 2 Euros per liter.
Beach and bathing
You have the sea nearby. The house has not yet got its own pool but we have an agreement with a restaurant 2 kms away which has got a big 6-12 meter swimming pool. If you buy a drink at 1 – 2 Euros - or even better have a meal, cheap and very good the use of the pool is free, just ask for the key at the bar. Normally you will have the pool on your own. The restaurant is called La Finca and is placed in the urbanization Montanosa 3 kms away between Nieves and Frailes very close to Canalosa.
Weather
Canalosa is known for the unique healthy microclimate and the fact that WHO has this area as one of the healthiest areas in the world. In wintertime this area is one of the warmest in Europe and with 330 sunny days a year. Every afternoon in summertime a mild wind will blow because of the thermal difference between the sea and mountains. Even if the temperature is more than 30 degrees Celsius you will never find it too hot in the shadow on the terrace in front of the house. There will always be a mild breeze.
Golf etc
Not far away you will find a very large outdoor aqua park and an indoor swimming center. Within the area you find 5 very beautiful 18 holes golf courses among others the famous Villa Martin golf centre, which is placed outside the nearby town of Torrevieja. Close to the sea in Santa Pola you will find the famous salt lakes with flamingos and large parks for wild birds.
Travelling
Airport in Alicante and in Murci are about 40 kms from the house
