The House and Garden:
• Stand alone house in excellent condition with Living Room, Kitchen, Bedroom, two Baths. Beautifully renovated in classic upscale Spanish style.
• Modern, fully equipped gourmet kitchen with dishwasher, vitro ceramic electric stove, oven, microwave, granite countertops and large windows looking out onto the garden.
• All the modern conveniences, including WIFI internet, air conditioning and clothes washer.
• Three French doors open to the garden and patio for dining outdoors.
• Located within a large peaceful and private garden that is on the national historic register. Very quiet. Secluded garden spots perfect for practicing yoga or meditation.
• Private access from a tranquil street. Free street parking within 20 meters of the front door is almost always available, but a car is not recommended nor needed.

Location:
• One of the best locations in the Albaycin historical tourist district, on a quiet street just one block from a bus stop and plaza San Miguel Bajo. A short walk on pedestrian streets will take you to multiple restaurants, bars, historical monuments, the city center and plazas (San Miguel Bajo, San Nicolas, Larga, Aliatar and others).
• Located on the grounds of a Carmen (historical house and large garden). It’s a quiet and green oasis in the middle of a densely populated tourist district.

Short trip to Granada

The house is located in very nice quiet area, in a city centre, walk distance to all attractions. Small parking 'slot' in front of the home is very helpfull if you come by car. Very nice, helpfull owners Don and Isabela. The garden is very nice, with beautiful flowers/trees, unfortunately not very well maintained and provided garden furniture is dirty. The house is equipped with all facilities we needed. Deficiency we faced during our visit is that the whole house is open, so even the bedroom is without door, connected with the rest of property. The floor in the bedroom is done by wood, so at all it is extremely nosy. The upstairs bathroom is just toilet with sing. The house was unfortunately not very clean, and it was very dusty. We had very nice stay during our trip.

A charming cottage and a beautiful garden in the historic Albaicin

The hosts, Isabella and Don, are warm and welcoming. The garden is even more beautiful and extensive than the pictures suggest. The cottage is charming and generally well equipped. There were two unfortunate deficiencies at the time we visited: one of the main heat sources was not working and the shower door was broken shortly before we came, and the parts necessary for repair were delayed due to the holidays. I'm sure both will be remedied soon. If you are visiting in the winter, bring warm clothes for the cold mornings and nights. This would be a truly perfect place in the more temperate seasons so one could make full use of the magnificent garden and patios, though we did enjoy them on the sunny afternoons, despite the chill in the air. There is a bus stop at the top of the street, which is very convenient for transportation into and around Granada. It is very near San Nicolas square which has several restaurants and magnificent views of the Alhambra.The winding, cobbled sometimes steep streets are charming, but might be a problem for anyone with physical challenges. A car would be more of a nuisance than an asset.

Hi Linda, thanks for your feedback. We checked the heaters and they are all working correctly. However, we noticied that you had (probably accidentally) pushed the button on the remote control that changed the system from heating to air conditioning. Therefore, you were accidentally turning on the air conditioner instead of the heater when you turned the system on. We will point this out more clearly to future renters and appreciate your comments.

Great experience

We really enjoyed our 5 night stay in the casita. Communication prior to and during our stay was great and the owners were readily available. If I were to return in the colder months I would definitely pack warmer clothes to wear in the house, which, as an older property had some heating issues. It was a special experience and we would return again.

Excellent!

Excellent place to stay! Lovely accommodation with full use of extensive garden. Great service from owners when I arrived (well about a mile away) in a car (not a good idea!), navigating us to the location then overseeing difficult parking challenge. Lovely place to stay

Granada/Albayzin district

Lovely accommodation in a beautiful walled garden, in a marvellous historic area of Granada with convenient local transport,and very hospitable hosts. Highly recommended for mature tavellers looking for independence.

Fantastic - Highly recommended

We spent 3 great nights in this fabulous apartment which is in the beautiful grounds of an historic carmen. The double bedroom upstairs is very comfortable with en suite toilet. The larger shower room downstairs was super clean, as was the rest of the place. The owners Isabella and Don could not have been more helpful and welcoming both before and during our stay. They gave us a tour of the wonderful garden which is perfectly manicured and bursting with fruit trees. We spent a lovely evening with them sharing delicious sangria, tapas and stories on the roof of their 'tower' from which there are spectacular views of the Alhambra. The location is great, well within walking distance of the main town yet really peaceful and full of character. The only potential downside is that the walk is quite steep so it might not be appropriate for everyone in that respect. We found the all the facilities we needed (although perhaps the addition of a kettle would be handy?) including washer, dish washer, coffee maker, cutlery and crockery, hairdryer, maps and local information. Fantastic place, people and value for money. Highly recommended!
