CASA ROSINA
The house is very well equipped with all the modern conveniences you would want from a quality holiday home - fresh flowers and a welcome pack await your arrival. There is a well stocked library and you are welcome to take any books home that you are reading and leave any you are finished with! The thick walls keep the house lovely and cool in the summer and cosy during the cooler winter months. All bedrooms and the living room have fans and electric heaters.
The very large upper floor bedroom has a king sized bed and is decorated with Moroccan kilims and lights - it is very romantic! The spacious lower ground floor ensuite bedroom with one double bed and one single has its own kitchenette and leads onto the front terrace - it is quite separate from the other 2 bedrooms. The third bedroom has 2 single beds. All rooms have a wardrobe, chest of drawers and bed side tables with lamps. Casa Rosina is very popular with families and groups of friends as it very spacious and provides a sense of private space on each of the floors. It is also good for couples who want a romantic holiday away from it all with ample space to spread out! In addition to the lounge with sofa and easy chairs, there is a dining room and upstairs a cosy snug with the satellite TV, sofa and chairs.
Internet access is available at the house.
The pool measures 6.5m x 2.5m and is surrounded by a terracotta tiled terrace where the BBQ is located. There are 4 loungers and a sun umbrella. On the upper terrace there is a large dining table with 6 chairs and in the height of the summer the fig tree gives welcome front terrace has wooden benches, table and chairs with stunning views through olive groves down to the lake and sea. There is ample private parking space for 2 cars by the house.
Children are very welcome and there is a cot, high chair and a car booster seat. The pool is by the outside dining table under the fig tree near the back kitchen door so it is very easy for parents to keep an eye on the smaller children!
The outside store is well stocked with logs for the wood burning stove for the fresher late autumn and winter months. The hamlet is very peaceful with truly breathtaking views to the mountains, lake and sea. There are excellent walks from the house winding along country tracks through olive groves and the nearby national park offers shaded walks with spectacular scenery. The charming white villages of Periana and Alcaucin with tapas bars, restaurants, banks and supermarkets are only a 10 minute drive away.
The nearest beach is at Torre del Mar, 25 mins drive by car. There are long stretches of sand and it has numerous chiringuitos (beach restaurants), cafes and restaurants. There is also a good Thursday open air market. The pretty town of Nerja is some 40 mins drive where you can find a good variety of restaurants, shops and cliffside beaches. The main beach has many water sport activities. Driving east from Nerja there are many lovely unspoilt coves and beaches several with good restaurants. In the summer months you can enjoy the many fiestas in the local villages and experience traditional Andalucian food, entertainment and dancing. We recommend visits to the wonderful old Moorish towns of Granada with the spectacular Alhambra Palace, Cordoba with the Mesquita, Seville, El Torcal and the gorge at Ronda - all are all within easy reach.
Car hire is essential and we can help with this. We recommend a local car hire company which has been used by many of our clients who are delighted to get away from the airport within 5/10 minuits of being in the arrivals hall - no long queues!
We have had many very satisfied clients over the nine years we have rented out Casa Rosina and we would ask you to please take a moment to read some of their comments:

This is the second time we have been to Casa Rosa so we knew what to expect. We arrived at the house in the dark and had forgotten just how lovely the view from the master bedroom was until we woke next morning. It really is beautiful.
The house is so charming and just as you would hope an old Spanish house to be, with all the old features and wooden beams and so spacious as well. The house is well laid out, clean and well looked after with plenty of room to hide away if you need a little me kitchen is very well equipped, we were cooking for four adults with no problems at all with plenty of pots, pans and plates. The patio next to the pool looks towards the mountains and in the evening you can sit and watch the sun disappear behind them. If its peace you want then it's really is the right place you are of the beaten track

We were looking for a place to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday with friends and happened upon an advert for Casa Rosina. The website was wonderfully helpful and gave a real sense of the house and environs. The house absolutely lived up to expectations. It surpasses most holiday rentals in several ways. Firstly it is spacious and the owners have resisted the urge to cram extra bedrooms in every available space. Secondly, it has a well-equipped kitchen. Thirdly, it is tremendously useful to have access to David's help and local knowledge. There is a lot to do around Casa Rosina, which lies on the cusp of the campo and the coast. We preferred to head off into the hills and explore the real Andalucia. But a few of our number - especially those with kids, liked to head off to the beach for a day. Granada, Cordoba and Seville are within easy reach. All in all it's a great place to spend time. We spent a month. We could have spent two!

The house was beautifully furnished in what I believe to be a traditional Spanish style - but with all of the essential things we Brits need for a perfect holiday, including hot August sunshine and a nice cool pool!!!. The house is huge and there is plenty of room for up to 6 adults to easily mill around without getting in each others way. The beds are so comfy that our biggest problem was sleeping in until mid morning and wondering where the days were going.
The location was also perfect. Nearby are sufficient small towns with numerous bars and restaurants offering delicious food and tapas. The wine in this region is also excellent. There are couple of small supermarkets / shops within 10 mins drive where you can top up your provisions but the main large supermarket is only about 20 mins away at a good shopping mall.
Prices in this region of Spain will take you back a few years and in no way can be compared to the coast. For our evening meals we rarely paid more than 35-40 euros for our family of 3 and we didn't skimp on the vino..... If we made use of the daily Menu del Dia (3 courses inc drinks at about £7-£9 each) then considerably less again.
