Newly renovated, with all modern facilities. Free wireless internet is available around the corner at the municipal building. The extremely good functioning public transport is two minutes away from the building. The well known night clubs like Opium and Choco are 10 minutes walk further on the boulevard.

There is a great fresh market and there are really hundreds of nice cosy pubs and restaurants in Barceloneta.

Notes
Barceloneta is a excellent central spot to really enjoy Barcelona. There is an extremely good public transport connection at 30 meters from the apartment. The street is lovely and peaceful. Around the other corner of the building is a nice Spanish tapas restaurant where you could also enjoy a good breakfast.

Great and very comfortable, awesome location

The neighbourhood is lovely with small streets and convenience stores, the beach is literally 50m away yet the apartment is sheltered from the weather (if you have the misfortune to find it in a bad shape). A little farther away and you're in Barcelona's Barri Gotic area. My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our 4 night stay here, very relaxing.
