Holiday apartment for rent in Islantilla

THE APARTMENT (new in 2004) is situated on Islantilla golf complex, next to a golf green and close to the Golf Hotel, Clubhouse and seafront. It has 2 double bedrooms (4 single beds), bathroom, separate kitchen, and living room with sofa bed, and doors to the garden. The golf course has 27 holes which provide a variety of challenges and impressive views. Some fairways overlook Islantilla beach resort which is a very short drive or 15 minute walk away. With its superb sandy beach, promenade and selection of restaurants, shops, and facilities Islantilla is a favoured holiday town in an area largely unaffected by mass tourism.

OUTSIDE. The end of terrace apartment has its own quiet south facing garden with paved terrace and patio furniture. The secure communal swimming pool is open from the middle of June until early September, when a lifeguard is in attendance. The gated development has attractive well maintained gardens, underground garaging, a children's play area and also a paddle tennis court. Free Wi-Fi access is available nearby.

COAST/BEACH. On South West Spains Atlantic coast, the Costa De La Luz (Coast of Light) in Huelva province has 120 kms of unspoilt white sandy beaches often backed by sand dunes and pines and in the summer months beach bars (chiringuitos). Islantilla promenade is about 2km long and with a European Blue Flag award the resort is favoured for sailing and wind surfing.

GOLF. The Costa De La Luz has some great golf courses, probably quieter and less expensive than the Algarve in Portugal and the better know regions of Spain. The 5th green of Islantilla (27 holes) is a sand wedge away from the apartment. Isla Canela and El Rompido (North and South) wind their way through a mixture of marshland and parkland along the coast. Two new courses have recently been completed at Costa Esuri on the Spanish side of the Guadiana river. Nuevo Portil is a traditional parkland course towards Huelva, and all are within a 30 minute drive. Many more courses are to be found a bit further afield (about 1 hour away) like Dunas De Donana in the Donana National Park, Bellavista (the oldest club in Spain) and courses across the border into Portugal.

SPECIAL INTEREST HOLIDAYS. This part of Andalucia set amongst scenery of fields of oranges, strawberries and olive groves has many protected and important nature and coastal reserves like the vast Donana National Park and Sierra de Aracena making it ideal for bird watching, walking and observing nature.

TRAVEL. Islantilla is about a 1 hour drive from Faro Airport and 1 hour 15 mins from Seville Airport. It is between Ayamonte on the border with Portugal, and the provincial capital Huelva, and a few kms from highway IP1 that joins Seville with Portugal.
