El Cortijo has an ideal location: in the countryside, which means clean air, silence and intimacy, but in the heart of Andalusia, with easy access to major tourist cities (Granada, Seville, Cordoba and Malaga-Costa del Sol), and only 8 miles from Campillos, which has all kinds of services (3 supermarkets, health center, restaurants, workshops ...). El Cortijo has three separate houses but communicable (Manorship, Arabic house and Casita) with 6-3-3 bedrooms, all with separate bathroom. Central heating and chimenees. Big halls and courtyards. Private use, only Cortijo tenants, pool, paddle tennis, tennis, table tennis and football pitch.
History. The Cortijo de Montero is an old building, as cited in Madoz Geographical Dictionary, 1849. Its recent restoration has been awarded by the Provincial of Malaga with the Emblem of Uniqueness. On May 10, 2010 has been voted the best rural accommodation in the province.
Rents must be made, with exceptions, weekly (Friday to Friday) or weekends (Friday to Sunday), and do not include meals or breakfast.
The house is surrounded by pine forests and eucalyptus trees and rows of cypresses. The Cortijo has about 100 hectares woodland (pine, oak, almond, olive, etc..) Shrubs abound. Stresses creeping rosemary blooms with its twelve year.
The Arboretum is our singular note: 100 different trees planted according to their historic appearance
Natural environment. Seven Wonders: A few kilometers of the Cortijo you can visit:
1. Gaitanes Gorge, near the reservoir of El Chorro, crossed by the famous "Caminito del Rey".
2. El Torcal de Antequera. Places of karst rock very specific, with few means of comparison in the world. His strange scenarios have served as a framework for science fiction movies.
3. The Laguna de Fuente de Piedra, declared a "nature reserve" for being the last refuge in Europe for the survival of pink flamingos and surrounded by lagoons that make up a set Campillos frequented by numerous bird species.
Midway
4. La Cueva de Nerja. Without doubt the most spectacular in Spain and possibly Europe
5. The Sierra de las Nieves, declared a "Biosphere Reserve"
A greater distance (two hours by car):
6. The Coto de Doñana (Huelva), a large "airport" bird passing between Africa and Europe. And
7. Sierra Nevada (Granada), from whose summit you can see the third part of Spain.
