The swimming pool is very big(14 x 14 m, 01.06.-15.09.) and the water has medicinal properties. Terrace with barbacue, garden furniture, an dining area and open plan kitchen tempts one never to leave the poolside, day or night. The surrounding pine trees lend the house a sense of privacy and exclusivity. it has a very nice and quite garden with plants, cactus, palm trees and centenarian pine-trees.
The villa is a 5-room house on 2 levels for 7 persons, partly renovated, antique and stylish furnishings: large entrance hall. Living room. Living room with open fireplace and library. Billiard-hall.. Dining room. Kitchen (oven, freezer, toaster). Bath/WC. Upper floor: 5 rooms( 3 rooms with 1 bed and 2 double rooms) , 2 Bathrooms.
Supermarket 3 km, restaurant 3 km. Golf course 8 km.. The house keeps its original feeling of the large landowners of the last century and is found in the middle of a citrus plantation. It has a private chapel and theatre, which you can visit (on request). The housekeeper lives in a wing of the villa.
Resort Pozo Estrecho
This resort belongs to Cartagena, 40 km south-east from Murcia. Supermarket, shops, restaurant, bar. Access: railway station in the resort. Cabo de Palos 25 km. La Manga 25 km. For arrivals by plane: airport Murcia (MJV) 20 km. Area dedicated to orange growing. Market every Friday. Situated near the historical city of Cartagena with many Modern Style building and Roman remains. Good place to participate in water and underwater sports. Trips: Reserva Natural de Sierra Espuña, Espacio Natural de Calblanque, la LLana. It is possible to play golf in more than 10 golf courses within 30 min. drive.
THE REGION COSTA CALIDA
Costa Cálida’s coastline of 250 km long extends from Cabo de Palos to the Gulf of Mazarron, where there are wide and peaceful beaches, lined with rocks and boulders. Holiday centres in the region have a good infrastructure providing modern facilities.
Soft sandy beaches with numerous children’s play areas on the sand, coupled with the calm waters of the Mar Menor make it ideal both for children and for the extensive water sports that are on offer here. These include Jet ski, windsurf, kitesurf, sailing, fishing, snorkell, and scuba dive. Los Alcázares Beach is a 15 min drive from the Villa
The climate in Murcia is bestowed with almost 2800 hours of sunshine a year – thats about double seen in the UK! Just to even out the maths, and with an average temperature of 21º it’s easy to see why Costa Calida is known as Spain’s warm coast.
History:
Murcia Cathedral, a 600 year old building has many Renaissance and Baroque elements, although its interior is basically Gothic. Check it out!!
The Port of Cartagena is a must do visit. Founded by the Carthaginians in 227 b. C. it was the place where Hannibal departed to fight against the Romans, as you can imagine the Port is steeped in history and beautiful architecture including some of the most wonderful façade’s.
There are numerous museums housing everything from Roman Mosaics to a collection of elephant tusks with Phoenician inscriptions, the only one of its kind in the world, there’s even a life-size model of a Roman merchant ship.
