The Costa de Almeria is located in the South East of Spain, tucked away between the Costa Blanca and the Costa del Sol. Generally, the area has yet to be discovered by the Tourist industry and is consequently still rural and typically Andalucian.
These luxury apartments are situated along the Vera beachfront, near the villages of Garrucha & Mojacar. Set in an un-commercialised area where you can mix with the real “Andalucian way of life”. This area has not been overtaken by the mass holiday market and has therefore retained a very continental feel, with a mixture of the old and new Spanish way of life. From local fishing village to the new hypermarkets an ideal location if you wish to experience the true Spain away from the fish & chip shops and English breakfasts.
In this area there are still many restaurants serving traditional tapas free with you beer and Andalucian speciliality dishes. There is an abundance of restaurants in this area to cater for all tastes, Spanish, Italian, Mexican, Indian and some fantastic fresh fish restaurants in Garrucha
Garrucha has remained a working Spanish Village/Town, with the Marina forming the heart of this lovely picturesque village. With the main industry being fishing you can still see the small traditional boats coming and going night and day whilst dining in one of the modern Marina front restaurants. The Marina has now expanded to incorporate larger more exclusive private vessels, which makes the area both fascinating and interesting.
Garrucha has many shops, banks, supermarkets, weekly street markets and of course lots of restaurants and bars!!
A new promenade leads from the apartments into the village of Garrucha. A pleasant stroll for either pre or post dining, the promenade takes you along the undeveloped beaches and private beach villas, past a scattering of beach bar/chiringuitos, which open at night and offer a great alternative to evening dining. Further along as you approach Garrucha there are several restaurants and Ice Cream parlours.
Upon entering Garrucha Marina there is a fun fair great for both small and big kids alike! And of course with every fun fair comes the traditional Churros y Chocolate stalls, (long shaped donuts which you dip into a pot of warm chocolate), best eaten after the fun fair rides! During the summer months there is also an evening market on the promenade selling nic nacs.

The Vera Coast apartments are situated in a very peaceful location with no through traffic allowed on the complex, making the area safe for children to explore. The complex was completed three years ago and therefore no worries of building work within the complex. Also with the added bonus that the gardens are well established and plentiful in flowers and lush trees “a very pretty complex”.
The apartments consist of ground floor and 1st floor only, no high rise buildings. An additional bonus is that there are no restaurants or noisy bars internally within the complex to disrupt you well-deserved sleep!
Although the apartments have one bedroom with twin beds/double, they are large spacious apartments which afford lots of space even with the large double sofa bed in the lounge is in use. The apartment sleeps four very comfortably and in addition there is a dining area with table and chairs. The interiors are fully furnished in good taste with pine units, marbled floors, fully fitted kitchen and washing machine, microwaves, toasters, kettles, TV sat channels.
In the surrounding area of the complex there are plenty of restaurants all within strolling distance, fresh fish restaurant, a pizzeria, continental, Chinese, Spanish and the Dahli restaurants that holds entertainment nights. Several other bars offer snooker tables, music and snacks.
The facilities consist of two large open-air swimming pools, one of which has food and sports facilities such as water aerobics and children’s club, while the other is more for relaxation, both are surrounded by gardens.
Also an ample sized indoor heated pool covered by a glass dome (ideal for the early morning swim) and for the winter months a heated Jacuzzi/spa. For fitness during your stay, there’s a private gymnasium and tennis courts - (there is a small charge for the use of the indoor facilities).
For keen golfers there are three golf courses in the area, the first on the mountain, which is a nine-hole golf course in Cortijo Grande. Two new courses in the area: Desert Springs Golf Club 6179 metres, Par 72, this is the first desert golf course in Europe, and is built to the standard of the famous desert course in Arizona. Also Marina de la Torre 5700 metres, Par 72, positioned opposite the beach in Mojacar’s this course attracts golfers looking for that new challenge.
While for the “not so keen Golfer” there is the local Aqua park ideal for family days out! The park consist of three large pools, one dedicated to toddlers, a larger pool with wave machine, and an additional pool for those eager to take part in water activities.
Several Lifeguards monitor all pools. The water shoots are a must! Starting for the novice with small slide shoots leading up to the Kamikaze for those who dare!!!!! The aqua park also has snack and dining facilities and offer discounts for weekly family entrance tickets.
The local beaches are sandy, clean and (award winning) the nearest located at 100m from the apartments. Situated by a designated nature reserve, “never overcrowded”.
Mojacar beach has many restaurants, water sports and entertainments and is just five minutes drive away, either by car or the regular bus service that runs along the coast.
This is a very good complex for group booking’s as there are many facilities, where you can all join in the entertainments together and still have the freedom of separate apartments. We look after ten apartments on the Vera Coast therefore we can also cater for large bookings, weddings, etc.
We can organise car hire for you with an English-speaking representative meeting you at the airport. Or should you require a private transfer this can be organised at an addition cost of euros 60,00 each way. Car prices start at £100.00 per week, or otherwise can be booked independently with one of the many companies on the net.
