It is a natural island connected by a road bridge to Ayamonte in the province of Huelva. It is situated very close to the border of Portugal in an area also known as the Spanish Algarve. It is a fantastic region for enjoying golf, sun, five miles of beaches, sailing, cycling, culture and scenic nature reserves and bird sanctuaries.
