Description: |
Our villa is set near to the San Pedro Nature Reserve and Salinas, from the roof terrace you can see the flamingos and other birds on the lakes. The villa is set on a large corner plot and consists of the following - groundfloor a fully fitted kitchen, lounge with patio doors opening on to a raised terrace to the front or to the covered terrace for shade at the side, (both have table and chairs) also a twin bedroom and a seperate shower room with wc. On the first floor there is a family bathroom and 2 further bedrooms, a double with balcony and a twin room, there is also a large corner terrace. Upstairs there is the roof terrace. Ceiling fans are fitted to the lounge and all bedrooms. This year 2007 we are building a pool in the garden, this will be apprix 9 mtrs x 4.5 mtrs with a separate childrens shallow area. We also have another villa Casa Luca available for rent, it is just arounde the corner from Casa Dia Del Sol, please email or call for availability.
This area enjoys on average 320 days of sunshine each year, El Mojon is a typical Spanish village/resort, it has a very relaxed atmosphere, there are 4 bars/restaurants and 1 supermarket that open all year, another supermarket is seasonal and there are a few more bars/restaurants (including beach bars) that open for the summer. There is a small rocky beach for about 500 mtrs that the locals fish from, then to either side there are clean sandy beaches that run into the next village of Torre on one side and along to the nature reserve and Marina at the other. In summer you can meet on the promanade and join in a class of aerobics, beach walkinf or Tai Chi etc, there is also a small childrens park and football and basketball areas were people join in.
Nearby are the Spanish towns of San Pedro Del Pinitar, Pilar de la Horadada, and Lo Pagan, they all have numerous shops, bars, churches etc to explore, it takes about 5 mins by car and 30 - 40 mins to walk. At Lo Pagan the famous saltwater lagoon the Mar Menor starts and also it is the site for the healing spa mud baths. there is a loveley walk to the site of the old bridge that connected the La Manga Strip to the mainland. The new 5* Spa Hotel has just opened this year (between El Mojon and Lo Pagon) it has an amazing thalassotherapy pool also a smaller childrens pool and offers a large range of health and beauty treatments.
The historical cities of Cartagena and Murcia are only 30 - 40 min drive and the mountains are also a short drive away to discover.
Golf courses are in abundance, Campoamar, Villa Martin, Polaris world etc and of course the world famouse La Manga club with all its sport facilities.Cycling(bike hire is available), Horse Riding, Mountain Biking, Bird Watching, Tennis, Sailing, Diving, Paragliding, Water Skiing and Surfing are all available locally.
San Javier(Murcia) Airport is only 15 mins away, Alicante Airport 45 mins, we offer a collection service from both airports or can provide very competitive car hire prices.More information about the surrounding area, places to eat and visit are included on our confirmation pack.
