Drive to Tamariu beach in 7 mins. This is a most attractive sandy bay with waterside restaurants. Also very close by is Aiguablava beach with its famous blue water and Sa Riera which is a pretty village with superb sandy beach, waterside restaurants and a few shops. La Colina has five bedrooms, [2 double and 3 twins] 2 bathrooms and 2 shower rooms. On the ground floor there is separate access to 2 bedrooms and 2 showers rooms [both with ensuite dressing room and shower room]. The large open plan living area is very attractively furnished in a mix of contemporary and traditional style and there is a deep full width semi-covered dining terrace with stunning views of sea and countryside. Sat tv, cd, dvd. Steps from the terrace lead to the pool [6.5x3.5m] area where you can relax and enjoy the superb sea and country views. Approached by steps at the back of the house is a peaceful haven, ideal for relaxing away from the house and pool area. Here there is a bbq area and large picnic table, additional seating and a lawned area. Access by steps to this area is from poolside and kitchen. The beaches in this region are superb. All sandy with blue flags and mostly a shallow entrance making it safe for little ones. There is rarely overcrowding as there is such a choice of beaches and some are relatively unknown by tourists. This area attracts many spaniards from Barcelona and other parts of Spain, many of whom have holiday homes here. Go-karting for kids and adults-5-10mins drive. Water park- 20mins drive. Zoo- 10mins drive Golf- many golf courses within 10-20 mins drive. The house manual gives details of all the courses in the local vicinity. Sailing- 10mins drive. There is a sailing club at Sa Riera and kayaks and pedallos for hire. Kayaks also at Calella. Cultural activities- all over the region: Figueres- Dalis museum- 40mins drive Medieval towns- 15-20 mins drive- Peratallada- a must to visit. Restaurants- too numerous to mention. Begur has a very good choice as do the coastal villages. Shops- an interesting selection of very good shops selling clothes, jewellery, etc. Food- excellent speciality shops in Begur for fish and meat plus very good supermarkets. Cycling- bykes can be hired in Palafrugell Walking- this is wonderful walking country, especially out of season when it is not so hot. The tourist office has a map showing popular walks. Skiing- within 3 hours you can be on the slopes in Andorra. Night life- plenty if you want it but there is not a string of discos here. Mainly late night cellar bars with music, some with dancing. There is a club in Begur and one just outside, not far from the villa but well away from everything and everyone! The main square has entertainment in the high season with a mixture of traditional and modern music and dancing. Wonderful to just sit and watch!
