Escape to our haven of peace in the countryside to unwind from the pressures of modern life. Spectacular view from the sea to the mountains. Relax and feel the quiet tranquillity of the mountains seep into your soul. A wonderful, idyllic mountain holiday retreat perched high over the Guadalhorce Valley - the world at your feet - The dramatic Sierra de las Nieves to the West; the Mediterranean Sea gleaming in the South; below the white villages dot the Andalucian valley against the vivid green of the lemon and orange groves. La Cencerrita covers nearly 8 acres of gently sloping mountain side interspersed with almond and olive trees, carpeted in the spring with wild flowers.
A holiday at La Cencerrita is all about unwinding from the pressures of modern life. Sit in the warm Spanish sunshine and just CHILL! However .... if you do need to move on the odd occasion , just 30 minutes are the towns of Cartama and Alora where there are connections to public transport. By car, the coast is some 50 mins away, as is Malaga. The canyon of El Chorro is under an hours drive in the other direction. A paradise for walkers, birdwatchers, painters and anyone else who wants to be far from the madding crowd - the skies are an astronomers paradise! Those who enjoy yoga and meditation have found the roof terrace a peaceful and soothing place to practise their exercises. Weve had several naturist couples - all delighting in the fact they can enjoy a view and not be hemmed in by high walls!
La Cencerrita combines the best of the traditional elements of an Andalusian farm cottage, whilst recognising those on holiday have different needs. Gone are the tiny, barred windows – now replaced with full length French doors – we couldn’t bear to hide the views! Sitting areas have been created to take into account the wide ranging temperatures throughout the year: whether you want sun or shade, the breeze or to be sheltered – somewhere you will find your perfect spot.
House - Sleeps 2 - 4 + extra child
• A Roof Terrace on top of the house - just wait till you see this 270o view - simply breathtaking. A perfect place to sit and feel on top of the world!
• Private Pool – 7.3m x 3.75m - with surrounding terrace
• Private outside Spa/Hot Tub - situated for great views - mountains by day and stars by night.
• A well equipped kitchen with modern pans and plenty of crockery
• Two bedrooms decorated in a fresh and airy fashion each with en-suite shower rooms (shower, basin, toilet, mirror cupboard, shaving socket): the Álora has a double bed and the Cártama has twin beds. Both rooms have patio doors leading onto a side terrace – each with fabulous views.
• A "Cloakroom" - separate toilet and basin
• A huge lounge/dining room (8mx4m) with a big corner sofa to snuggle in and a fireplace.
• An extra child bed is available (supplement payable for 5th person)
• Widescreen TV with lots of videos and DVDs - nearly 200 films (NB the TV is not hooked up to any networks - you are meant to be getting away from it all!)
• Sony Playstation 2 (on request) with several games (or use your own!)
• Assorted games such as Monopoly, Trivial Pursuits, Chess and jigsaws.
• Books - a wide selection of non-fiction and fiction. Includes information about the area - wildflowers, birds, stars etc
• Ceiling fans to keep things cool in summer and heaters to keep things warm in winter
Little touches like towelling robes provided for use after the spa or pool, torches with rechargeable batteries, a bottle of wine to welcome you are all part and parcel of the Cencerrita experience. Maybe best of all, is that we meet you in the local village to guide you to Cencerrita - we do not want you to get lost on the first day of your holiday - This is a great relief to most ... especially when arriving in the dark!
We will also cook dinner (12 € each) for you on the first night if you would like - cooking is often the last thing you want to do after a long day travelling.
If you dont want to hire a car, we are happy to pick you up from Malaga airport (35 euros each way). We also run some excursions in the area such as El Chorro and Ronda - please email us or see our website for further details.

Special notes
When booking, a non-returnable deposit of 25% is required, with the balance due 6 weeks before the start of your holiday. Payment can be made via PayPal using your credit card, or direct into our bank. Full details are on our website in terms and conditions.
When we receive the deposit, we will send a confirmation form and route directions.
A refundable damage deposit of €100 is payable on arrival. This will be returned in full, assuming all is as you found it in the house. If you prefer not to clean the house on your departure (particularly if leaving very early for the airport!) we will take care of it for 25 euros. |
