Description: |
The Vera Coast apartments are designed on an Andalucian village concept, all are two story and the informal, well-tended and lit gardens incorporate mature trees, perfumed flowers, fountains, two outdoor pools & one indoor heated pool. Both outdoor pools have snack bars (one with restaurant), sun beds, parasols and lifeguard.
The indoor pool* incorporates a fitness centre with gym, sauna and Jacuzzi.
The apartment has an excellent position being on the second level, the lounge terrace/balcony overlooking the length of the pool. Private external steps to the apartment, generous size lounge with balcony also TV, radio & CD player , open plan kitchen, bedroom with twin beds, and balcony, bathroom with full bath and shower. Overhead fans in lounge and bedroom, fitted safe.

Vera Coast, a self-contained holiday resort is virtually part of Garrucha. A pleasant 10-minute stroll on the pedestrian promenade to Garrucha port, 10-minute drive to Mojacar village & beach, the same time to Vera town Convenient supermarket also offering pedal & electric bike hire, six restaurants, three bars in the immediate vicinity and an easy, safe three minute walk to the wide, sandy beach and the promenade to Garrucha. Equally suited for any age wanting to enjoy, relax and/or explore the area. Four Golf courses within 15 minutes, water park five minutes. The local bus stop is close to the apartments for Vera, Mojacar village, Garrucha, and Water Park etc.
Further leisure facilities include, bicycle hire, (pedal & electric), the heated indoor pool complex has the following, sauna, gym, jacuzzi, massage, swimming lessons, aqua aerobics*. (*local charge)
Excursions to Almeria, Granada, Mini Hollywood & 4x4 trips to the mountains can be booked at the main office of Vera Coast. The Vera Water park is a five minute drive or local bus, the park is open June - September. Tours through the Natural Caves of Sorbas all year round, a 45-minute drive from Vera Coast. Out & about.
The Mojacar/Garrucha area is in the eastern part of Andalucia Province, this part of Spain has escaped the worst excesses of mass tourism development, the prevailing Moorish architectural style is relatively unaffected by high rise buildings. Vera Coast, Pueblo Laguna, Garrucha and Mojacar (village and beach) offer a wide selection of restaurants, eating out need not be expensive with a choice of typical Andalucian grilled meats and fish, (Garrucha in particular for fish), Italian, Mexican, French, Indian, Tex-Mex, Thailand etc.
For those who enjoy sunshine the region is the best in Europe, more than 320 days of sun, less than 20cm. of rain and a dry atmosphere. July & August are the hottest months and are very popular with visitors from other parts of Spain, for those who want just about 100% sun without the intense heat of high summer May, June, September & October are the ideal months. Any rain is most likely in February but there is plenty of sunshine so it is highly recommended for visitors from the frozen North. The area is quickly becoming a must visit for golfers, four courses within fifteen minutes of the apartment with two more under construction (E mail for more golf information.)
The surrounding countryside is the true Spain, many of the neighbouring villages have changed little over the past centuries, the way of life is quintessentially Andalucian. Two hours by motorway is the famous and historically significant city of Granada with the incredible Moorish palace of the Alhambra.the finest surviving piece of major architecture from the time when Spain was under Arabic rule. Spectacular is the way to describe the inland mountain roads and the rocky desert-like terrain that has been the location for many famous films from ˜Lawrence of Arabia to Clint Eastwoods spaghetti Westerns The Mini Hollywood theme park where such films as A Fistful of Dollars and The Good, The Bad and The Ugly were made is a 45 minute drive into the Tabernas Desert, (the only true desert in Europe). Almeria city for shopping and a fine example of a Moorish Castle, also, for the more adventurous, a two hour trip on the car ferry to Morocco, running four times a day.
