Description: |
Garrucha Garrucha is an authentic fish town on Almerías coast down to Mojácar. Within a ten minutes walk from the complex is the Prize-winner Blue Flag sandy beach, which runs from Vera playa through to Mojácar playa with many beach bars, restaurants, etc. to enjoy as you stroll by. It possesses an extensive promenade from great beauty that emphasizes the marble balustrade. Every Friday Garrucha has a good local market. It is also advisable to come in the afternoon (Monday - Saturday) to the covered fish market and to attend the auction of fish.
Mojacar Mojacar village is an ancient Moorish village at the foothills of the Sierra Cabrera with twisting cobbled streets, old arches and domed houses stacked one above the other and overlooks the sea. It is filled with superb restaurants, boutiques, charming squares and intimate bars. Mojacar playa is just a 10 minutes drive from Garrucha and has a nice beach, good restaurants, bars, a golf course, and water sports.
Vera The town of Vera also a 10 minutes drive from Garrucha (car or bus) is very prosperous and has many stores. Vera is rich in its handicraft and the amount of tourist is constantly increasing, because of its well-known cuisine. There are fancy restaurants, as well as the popular Spanish "Tapas" (small rations). There is a street market every Saturday.

From end of October up to end of April there is also the possibility for Sierra Nevada skiing (136 km from Garrucha).

Special notes Accommodation on Fuentemar complex. Duplex was built in 2001 and situated in a quiet corner of the complex; it is close to the swimming pools, included a small puddling pool, the beach is 400m away. Restaurants, bars and super markets within walking distance. There is also a naturist beach about 10 minutes drive away for those of you who wish to bare all. Weather: This is mainland Europes warmest and sunniest region claiming 320 days, over 3000 hours, of sunshine a year. the average yearly temperature is 18º and during the summer the average is 24.6º warm winters are taken for granted and heating is seldom required. Costs: Water, electricity, laundry and final cleaning charges are included in the rental price Rentals: Minimum rental charge is one weeks let with any number of additional days calculated at 1/7th of weekly rate per day. For long term lets, one month or more, or late availability booking, please enquire for discounted rates. We are flexible on start/end dates of lets but you must vacate by 10am on day of departure and access will not be possible before 3pm on arrival date. this is to allow time for cleaning and preparation of holiday home for next guests. |
