Casa Ladera is set in a beautiful position on the outskirts of the pretty village of Archez amid olive, almond and avocado groves, with the spectacular mountain scenery of the Tejeda National Park in the distance. The casa has direct access off a quiet tarmac road not a rough track, as is so often the case in this area. The village of Canillas de Albaida is only five minutes drive, with Competa a further five minutes, both have a Moorish influence with narrow winding streets of whitewashed houses and pretty squares to while away the day. There are also plenty of bars, restaurants, banks, pharmacies, shops and supermarkets to be found there and a weekly market.

The property is light and airy and very well equipped to a high standard throughout, a large part having recently been refurbished. The salon is comfortably furnished, has a wood-burning fire for the colder months, satellite TV, a DVD/VCR/CD player with lots of videos, DVD’s, books and games. The dining area has comfortable wooden furniture and matching dresser. The kitchen has a fridge, freezer, hob, grill, oven, microwave, iron and ironing board. Also on the ground floor there are two bedrooms: one double and one twin; and a large family bathroom with bidet, bath with shower over, a fitted heater/cooler fan and a hairdryer.

On the upper floor there is a large roof terrace which affords beautiful views and access to another twin bedroom/studio with en-suite shower room which has a fitted heater/cooler fan and hairdryer, a further independent Satellite TV, a DVD/VCR/CD player with videos, DVD’s, books and a kitchen area equipped with sink, hob, microwave and fridge with small freezer compartment. The terrace has its own garden furniture. This makes the casa ideal for families of mixed generations enabling a younger or older couple to get away from the rest of the family for those quiet moments. There are ceiling fans for warm weather in all the rooms. We find these better than air conditioning that relies on the doors and windows being closed.

Outside there is a large secluded pool 9x4m with loungers and shower, plus a brick BBQ, seating and table for six for al fresco eating. For entertainment there is a barn with Basketball hoop, Tabletennis, Badminton and Dartsboard and two mountain bikes for visitors use. There are terraces surrounding the house some of which are shaded either by grapevines or awnings to provide shelter from the sun. There is parking for two cars.

The area is a good base for walking and hiking as there are several tracks at different levels of endurance. A car is essential to get around the area and there is much to see. Apart from the villages a local stable for riding is a ten minutes drive; the lake at Vinuela for water sports and fishing a scenic 35 minutes; Torre del Mar a lively seaside town with its long sandy beach and night-life 30 minutes; and another 10 minutes along the coast you will find the picturesque town of Nerja with its famous caves. Seville, Cordoba and the Alhambra Palace at Granada are just some of the destinations that make for a memorable day-trip. There are several golf courses in the area, the 18-hole Bavaria golf course is just off the motorway at the coast and at Velez Malaga you will find a large shopping centre. Malaga airport is approx 50 minutes drive.

Notes
The casa has one double & two twin bedrooms (one with kitchenette, satellite TV and DVD/VCR/CD player with UK Channels); one family bathroom and one en suite; a large living /dining room with satellite TV and DVD/VCR/CD player with UK channels; fully fitted kitchen with microwave & fridge freezer. There is an automatic washing machine, hairdryer and two mountain bikes. Although the terraces and parking are on level ground the casa is not suitable for children under 7years due to the sloping garden.

Outside there is a large private 9m x 4m swimming pool, a games room with badminton, table-tennis, basketball and darts, and parking for a number of vehicles.

Linen/maid service:
All bed linen and towels included but not beach or pool towels. The casa is cleaned for arrival and a small starter pack can be provided for late arrivals paid direct at the Casa. The pool is cleaned at least once per week.

Children must be supervised at all times particularly around the pool and in the garden. The owners will accept no responsibility for any accidents, guests are advised to take out appropriate holiday insurance.

Bookings to be made via email. A 30% deposit is required at the time of booking, the balance due 8 weeks prior to the start of your stay at Casa Ladera.

A REDUCED RATE IS AVAILABLE for under occupancy(excluding Peak period), also last minute and long rentals.

A refundable (non-cashed) cheque for £250/250€ should be sent with balance payment. This is to ensure against damage or loss of keys. The cheque will be returned after inspection within 7 days of departure. Guests’ full name, address and contact details are required at time of booking. If possible we would like the flight details when paying the balance to pass on to our representative in Archez. Casa available from 3pm and vacated by 11am.

Great time !

Very nice house, with lovely (great) pool. Very well equipment. Views from the house are stunning. Environement so beautiful. In a short time (30 min.) at the beaches and nice places. So nice quiet and peacefull in Casa Ladera on the mountain. Miss it already!
