El Cotillo holiday-apartment.
Fantastic 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment built on 2 levels, each having its own spacious and very private sun terrace. The apartment was completed in July 2005. It is fully furnished with all the modern conveniences that make it a real home away from home. The first floor level has an open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area, twin bedroom and bathroom. It also has a large(45m2) enclosed sun terrace which gives a lot of privacy. Upstairs is the master bedroom with double bed and an en suite bathroom, and leading onto its own 25m2 sun terrace which is again very private, but also has stunning views across the whole village of El Cotillo, north to the lagoon beaches and lighthouse, and south to the vast stretch of the "surf" beach.

Notes

El Cotillo is famous for both its white sand lagoons which offer safe swimming all year round, and the long stretch of white sand beach to the south of the village. The lagoons are ideal for all ages and are great for fishing and snorkeling. The surf beach is more exposed and the Atlantic ocean waters here offer perfect conditions for surfing, windsurfing and kite surfing.
Once a sleepy fishing village, El Cotillo is now moving into the 21st century! There are 3 local food stores, 2 banks, an internet cafe and a Parafarmacia,(any medication can be obtained at the pharmacy in Lajares, less than 10 mins drive). There are various other small local stores and services in the village. There are numerous restaurants, many overlooking the ocean and serving locally caught fresh fish and a few local bars. The village maintains its local Canarian feel and is an ideal location for a truly relaxing holiday.
The nearby resort and town of Correlejo is only a 20 minute drive from El Cotillo. There is also a regular and reliable bus service which takes approx 40 minutes. In Correljo you can find many bars and restuarants, and a much more lively nightlife scene. There is the new Bacu Waterpark which has various other attractions on site. There is a local market twice a week, and a huge range of shops. There is also a harbour with a ferry service to nearby Lanzarote.
There is also a championship golf course in Caleta de Fuste, near the airport, which hosted the 2004 Spanish Open.
The area in the North of Fuerteventura is also very popular for walking, cycling and natutist tourism, and El Cotillo is a perfect base for these activities. |
