Description: |
Our superbly renovated townhouse is located on Calle Andalucia in the heart of Competa, a traditional andalucian village nestled in the Sierra de Almijara Mountains. Whilst in a quiet area the house is only a 2-minute walk from the main square of Plaza Almijara. All restaurants, tapas bars and the Hotel Balcon de Competa communal swimming pool with tennis courts are only a short walk away, can be used for a small fee.
The property was sensitively restored in 2005 to offer comfortable accommodation and has a very homely and spacious feeling right the way through. It maintains a wonderful rustic style with original wooden beams, window shutters and wood burners in both the lounge and kitchen. The entire house has been furnished to a very high standard with charming bamboo lamps and soft lighting throughout. Built as a typical andalucian townhouse it remains cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
The ground floor comprises the master bedroom, guest toilet and under stair storage. The bedroom has plenty of wardrobe space and a large king size bed. The ensuite bathroom has a very large jacuzzi bath and a separate shower. The under stair storage houses the freezer and washing machine.
The first floor consists of the second bedroom with ensuite and the kitchen/diner. The kitchen was updated in 2007 and has all amenities including plenty of surface space and a wood burner. The dining table is adjacent to the kitchen with large shutters next to it that open on to a small juliet balcony. The second bedroom has twin beds and a large wardrobe together with shutters that open to another small balcony. The room has an ensuite bathroom with shower and bath.
The second floor consists of the large lounge and living space. There is a wood burner, free view sky T.V and a 42 inch flat screen T.V and DVD player. The room has shuttered windows throughout and a further small balcony overlooking the pedestrian walkway below. Together with the two-piece sofa there is an additional sofa bed in this room should it be required.
Stairs from the lounge lead to the terrace, which has the most amazing views of the village and the rolling hills down to the Mediterranean. Complete with sun beds and a table and chairs it is the perfect place to dine or BBQ.
Competa and the surroundings
Competa is about an hours drive from Malaga airport, 17kms from the coast overlooked by the Almijara Mountains. It is the largest village in the area with plenty of excellent restaurants and Tapas bars to choose from. A welcoming hamlet is a great base to relax or visit nearby villages or costal towns. With the national park, cradling the village its offers beautiful walks for serious hikers and is equally as pleasant for those who just like a stroll. Horse riding, mountain biking and quad biking are also popular pastimes in the surrounding hills.
The coastal towns and beaches of Nerja and Torrox together with the water park in Torre Del Mar are all only 30 minutes away. Whatever time of the year Competa is the perfect place to relax and unwind.

Access to the house is straight forward and parking is only 100 metres away. Additionally we would suggest the property is not suitable for young children or people with mobility problems. |

We require 50% deposit when booking and the balance 6 weeks prior to arrival. Payments can be made by cheque or bank transfer. Please note: deposits are non refundable. When arriving in Competa we will personally meet you to hand over the keys and show you to the property.
