Description: |
The Apartment
Newly built in 2007, our 2 bedroom apartment is furnished to a very high specification to includes flat screen tv, dvd player, uk satellite channels, leather furniture, mp3 docking system, new beds, cotton linen & good mattresses, a well equipped kitchen with 4 burner ceramic hob, oven and extractor, fridge freezer, washing machine and microwave.
The accommodation consists of a large living room dining space with private veranda overlooking an orange grove and the mountains, a separate kitchen, family bathroom, master bedroom with double bed and second bedroom with bunk beds and a pull out third single. (in all it sleeps 5 max)
To the outside we have our own large private sun terrace on the roof, measuring 15m x 5m, allowing fantastic alfresco dining and private sun bathing, with an outside shower for cooling down! The block of apartments share a further communal area on the roof terrace and a child friendly single depth swimming pool.
Local Area
The property fronts a well kept, tree lined village street, and has a lovely shaded children’s play area nearby for those of you with toddlers. For the more athletic the village also has a communal basket ball / soccer pitch and a large outdoor pool.
We must stress Heradades is very quiet, with largely Spanish residents and will not suit people seeking night life, no late night bars or clubs, so if this is what you are looking for please don’t book our apartment.
However if you want to avoid the crowds and stay in a traditional village, enjoy the sun and self cater, then don’t look any further. There is a really nice restaurant called Antonios within walking distance and a couple of other bars that serve basic food close by. For those of you who enjoy self catering the local markets provide a great atmosphere and chance to see what’s on offer. Rojales is the nearest but other equally good markets can be found at Guardamar, Almoradi, and Santa Pola.
Shopping
Within walking distance of the apartment is a fantastic butchers / general store located on Calle Las Hoyas, which is the third road on your left, travelling up the street in front of the apartment in the direction of the church. They carry a full range of fresh meats, homemade sausages, along with a selection of cooked meats and virtually everything else, fresh veg & fruit, cold beer & pop, crisps, bread, tins, wine, water etc etc.
There is also a bakery in the village that opens most days, along with a man in a white van that beeps his horn when he pulls up each morning outside the apartment with freshly baked bread.
The nearest supermarket in Rojales is a 5 minute drive away and the Large Carfoure in Torevieca is only 15 minutes away and has a fantastic selection of fresh fish, meat, cheese, wine, all at great prices compared to the UK.
Coast / Beach
The magnificent beaches and dunes at Guardamar are less than 10mins away by car. These stretch for about 13kms and are just one of sequence of beaches in the area. There are numerous coves to be found, and all are characterised by gently sloping beaches, white sand and blue sea. Many small bars and ice cream parlours front the Prom at Guardamar, offering a lovely way to enjoy the vista and soak up the sun.
Golf
The apartments nearest course is about a 10 minute drive and is called La Marquesa Golf and Country Club. This is a lovely undulating course, which provides a reasonable test to start off your golfing break. Within a 15 minute drive is the stunning La Finca course. To the south a journey of around 30 mins bring you to Villamartin, Las Ramblas and Campoamar, with further courses to be found just north of the villa.
Within 1 hour drive there are over a dozen quality golf courses to be found. If you are looking to play golf on your holiday, we recommend that you pre-book your tee times. At certain times of the year, the courses do get busy (less so June-August!) You will also be more likely to get discounted fees by booking in advance. Google "spanish golf" and check out the huge choice of deals available.
Getting there
Fly into either Alicante or Murcia airports from a number of British airports. Alicante is slightly nearer and is approx 30min drive to the villa. Murcia takes about 10mins or so more. Taxi transfers can be obtained from either airport, but we do strongly recommend hiring your own car in order to make the best of the area and your holiday. Hiring a car for a week will offset the cost of taxi transfers, and book in advance as they can be fully booked during high season.
Accessibility
The apartment is layed out on the second floor with a roof top solarium, with access to the front door via steps; as a result the apartment may not be suitable for the less mobile guest. The apartment has its own secure underground car parking space, and it is also possible to park of street directly outside.
Further Info
Rojales is the nearest town, being around 3kms from the apartment and is typically Spanish, with narrow streets, small tapas bars and restaurants, with a fabulous market on Thursday
Torrevieja is a 20 minute drive and is a large commercial centre, were you can visit fantastic modern shopping malls on the outskirts, or perhaps walk around the old town, through to the harbour and peer that stretches into the Mediterranean.
Alicante has a glamorous port, Elche has great shopping and Cartegena is awash with history, all of which you can reach in an hour, or perhaps travel a couple of hours to magnificent city Valencia.
The hills of Crevillente, which can be seen from the villa, are well worth a visit. With a number of villages perched precariously on the hillside and unique churches clinging to the cliffs, there are many local sights to visit. A climb up some of the hills reveals breath-taking views in any direction.

Reservation deposit, we require a £100 non-refundable deposit at the point of booking with the balance of the rental cost paying 8 weeks before your holiday.
Security deposit, we require a £100 refundable security deposit, payable with your rental balance.
Cleaning & Laundry costs of £50 will be deducted from this security deposit, with the balance refunded after a property inspection completed by our management company after your stay.
We may be able to arrange another apartment in the same block if you require further accomodation. |
