Casa Machella is all you need for a relaxed vacation. Situated in the forest with mountain view, if offers you full privacy.
The has in total 5 rooms, sleeping 12 persons. 2 more beds are optional.
At the lower floor there are two rooms, one of them adapted for disabled, a bathroom, livingroom, diningroom and kitchen with all facilities, e.g. dishwasher. At the upper floor, there are 3 rooms and 2 bathrooms.
Outside, there are swings, an activityroom with tabletennis and toys for smaller kids. By the house, there is a covered terrace, where you can enjoy your meals and perhaps a glass of wine in the warm catalan evenings. Below the house, the poolarea with lawn, sunbeds and the children-friendly swimmingpool provides the perfect base for daytime relaxation. The view over the forest and the mountains is excellent.
Casa Machella is situated 15 minutes drive from the historical town of Solsona, with a beautiful Cathedral in the antique town-part and all kinds of shops and supermarkets. There is also a market day, where you can buy vegstables, food as well as clothes and other more and less important things.
In the Solsones area there are many activities such as hiking, golf, bicycling and if you want a serious swimm, there is a olympic sized public swimming pool only 2 km. from the house.
The location centrally in Catalonia allows you to visit more or less all the nice places in Catalonia in one-day trips.
If you go south, you get through the famous wine (and cava) district Penedés, where you can taste the nice Catalan wines. Further south, there is a roman amphi-theatre of Tarragona or for the kids "Universal Studios Port Aventure".
If you go east, there is only 1½ drive to Barcelona, which is obviously worth a visit. You can even combine it with a visit to the beach.
If you go west, you are within one hours drive of the Pyrenees, the centre of outdoor activities. If you continue, you get to Andorra, where the big attraction is taxfree shopping and in the winther skiing.
If you go north, you can visit the Dalí museum in Figueres and even visit one of the Costa Brava beaches. One visit there, and you will enjoy your peaceful pool-area when you return.
