Puerto de Santa Maria on the Costa de la Luz
The Costa de la Luz (Coast of Light) has long fine sandy beaches backed by pine covered dunes, within this area you will find El Puerto de Santa Maria probably the most famous resort in the area, known by the Spanish nationals for it’s laidback approach but relatively unknown to foreign visitors.
The Costa de la Luz has many resorts all within driving distance of each other such as Bolonia, Zahara de los Atunes, Los Caños de Meca, and Sancular de Barrameda.
The beaches and resorts are interspersed with cities and ports such as Cádiz, El Puerto de Santa Maria, Huelva and Isla Cristina with extensive wetlands, which is a haven for wildlife the most important area being the National park Coto Doñana
North of Cadiz, the oldest city in Europe, the towns of Jerez de la Frontera, Sanlucar and El Puerto de Santa Maria form the famous Sherry Triangle and are best known for their sherry. But apart from being the home of Sherry this area has lots to see and do. The beaches stretch for miles and being so close to Africa there are hours of endless sunshine.
The climate is one of El Puerto’s best features with endless days of sunshine even during the winter months temperatures rarely fall below 20º.
Andalusia’s wildlife is the most varied in Europe, with fauna and flora in protected areas.
Whether you want a relaxing holiday in the sun or a cultural tour of Andalusia, which is rich in historical importance, then El Puerto De Santa Maria has something for everyone, Come and see the real Spain!!!
