Description: |
WELCOME TO CASA IANDA Ian and Brenda would be delighted to welcome you to ´Casa Ianda´ our home here in the lovely Axarquia region of Andalucia. An area of outstanding natural beauty, the Lake Vinuela area is a peaceful oasis east of Malaga and the ideal base for touring fascinating Andalucia or for just ´chilling out´. Stay here and you will be in a spectacular country/mountain setting but with the advantage of being just 20 minutes drive from the coast of the eastern Costa del Sol and 2 major motorways. We are an easy 50 minutes drive from Malaga Airport or 80 minutes from Granada airport.
ROOMS - both rooms are immediately next door to each other and have private acess via the Poolside Terrace giving you total freedom to come and go as you please:-
DOUBLE ROOM (sleeps 2); measuring a compact but very comfortable 9 square meters. Very well furnished and equipped with Double Bed, full bedroom suite, en suite Bathroom, fridge/mini bar, hospitality tray, powerful ceiling fan for Summer ventilation and radiator for Winter heating, hairdryer etc. A single ´Z´Bed can be placed in this room for a young child but you would have to accept VERY limited space; Euro 10 p.n./Euro 50 p.w. supplement.
FAMILY ROOM (sleeps 2-4); spacious measuring 25 square meters. Same furnishings/equipment as the Double Room but with Twin Beds (generally pushed together to make a King Sized Double) plus 2 optional single Z Beds for a 3rd and 4th person plus Dining Table + 4 Chairs. There is a Euro 10 p.n./Euro 50 p.w. supplement for a 3rd or 4th person sharing this room.
BOOK BOTH ROOMS and you have sole use of the lower floor of Casa Ianda and sole use of the pool - giving you all the privacy of a Villa holiday with the advantage of Breakfast and daily cleaning. Book both rooms for 7 nights or more and receive a complimentary 3 course + wine Lunch or Dinner per adult and 2 course + drink Childrens Meal per child on the day of your choice.
SWIMMING POOL - Guests have unlimited use of our 8m x 4m pool that has a stunning lake view. The pool is unheated but is open year round and the terrace surrounding the pool is a real Winter sun-trap so the ideal place to relax all year round.
TERRACES - As well as the pool terrace, we have a large sun terrace immediately outside our guest rooms with tables, chairs, sun-beds and parasols, a covered terrace up in the main house where guests requiring Dinner are served in Summer plus a spacious roof terrace - another Winter sun-trap - that has amazing views and is a great place to relax with a good book and a glass of Vino.
BREAKFAST - Our price includes a very substantial Continental Breakfast**; full cooked English Breakfast or Smoked Salmon with Scrambled Eggs and Cava (Spanish Champagne) available at a small supplement.
**Our Continental Breakfast consists of Choice of Cereals, Choice of Fruit Juices, Cheese + Ham (or a hot Bacon Muffin if you prefer). Croissants and/or Toast with Jams + Butter, Fresh Fruit in season, Yoghourt, 2 x 1.5 litre bottles of Mineral Water and your choice of Tea (normal or various herbal), Hot Chocolate or Coffee (normal or decaffeinated).
In Winter Breakfast is put in your room the night before allowing you to eat as early or as late as you please, either in the comfort of your room or out on the terrace. In Summer it is generally served on the terrace outside both Guest Rooms but can still be put in your room the night before if you prefer to eat later.
Pre-book a cooked English Breakfast (minimum 2 people) for each day of your stay and the supplement is Euro 4 per person per day. Alternatively, if you prefer to have a cooked Breakfast occasionally during your stay, the supplement is Euro 5.50 per person.
HALF BOARD - Optional Evening Meal available. Either a 3 course + wine meal with choice of 4 menus at Euro 15 per person or A la Carte menu; current menus emailed on request.
FULL BOARD - Table dHote package includes Lunch (either a 2 course + wine meal at Casa Ianda or a large Picnic Hamper with wine if you are out for the day) plus 3 course + wine Evening Meal; Euro 25 p.p. Menus emailed on request.
PRICES - Prices are per room per night based on 2 people sharing a room. We give a 10% discount for stays of 4 nights or more (except 1 November 2008 - 31 March 2009 in the Double Room and 24 - 31 December 2008 in the Family Room).
ACCESS/PARKING - Access to our Guest Rooms is down a flight of 19 exterior stairs so the accommodation is not suitable for anyone with walking difficulties. Car hire is essential - parking is available on our driveway. Unlike many campo properties access to Casa Ianda is via a fully asphalted road - no rough track!
SURROUNDING AREA - We are situated 3 kilometers below the village of LOS ROMANES and similar distance from the villages of PUENTE DON MANUEL and LA VIÑUELA. These villages provide several small shops, a bank, health centre, pharmacy and a good selection of restaurants and bars (Spanish, British and Indian - ask for an email copy of our restaurant guide). A 15 minutes drive takes you to the large shopping centre ´El Ingenio´where you will find a large hypermarket, high street stores such as Mango and Zara, a Dunnes store (the Irish M+S!), many smaller shops selling clothes, shoes etc., several bars/restaurants, a cinema and bowling alley. Immediately across the road from the mall is a very popular Aquapark open from May to September. 5 minutes more takes you into the typically spanish coatal town of TORRE DEL MAR with long/clean beaches or, if you want to visit a busier resort, NERJA is only another 15 minutes drive. We are surrounded by three Natural/National Parks, so this is perfect walking country, and several traditional ´PUEBLOS BLANCOS´(White Villages) can be reached within a few minutes drive of ´Casa Ianda´. From Torre del Mar there is a very frequent bus service into MALAGA CITY - somewhere you should not miss during your stay - with current return fare just Euro 4 per person. For full day excursions you can visit GRANADA, the resorts west of Malaga such as TORREMOLINOS, BENALMADENA, FUENGIROLA and MARBELLA, the little bit of Britain in Spain GIBRALTAR, the fascinating cities of CORDOBA and SEVILLE, and the breathtaking scenery of the ALPUJARRAS and the SIERRA NEVADA mountains where a days skiing is possible for Winter guests.
