Las Colinas is a single storey villa, with high vaulted ceilings, wooden doors and window shutters. We are situated 2kms from the village of Canillas de Aceituno.
The villa is supplied with water and electricity. Bottled gas is used for cooking. The lounge and master bedroom each have ceiling fans. The villa has two good sized bedrooms, one double and one twin. The bathroom has a fullsize bath, sink and separate shower cubicle. The kitchen which has been recently updated is fully fitted. There is a large lounge/diner with a wood burning stove and dining for 4 persons. The villa has superb views over Lake Vinuela with a backdrop of the Sierra Tejada mountains.
There is an outside terrace and delighful 10m x 6m swimming pool. The pool area is fenced and gated and there is an outside dining area, complete with table and chairs to seat 6 people. There are also plenty of sunloungers around the pool.
The main terrace has a brick built BBQ and a drinks fridge.
The owner lives next door and are is hand to assist you. She has four cats and four dogs, so you must be an animal lover.
Canillas de Aceituno lies 50 kms east of Malaga and 25 kms from the beaches at Torre del Mar/Caleta de Velez and has a population of 2,800.
The town is situated on the scenic Mudejar Route, at 645 metres altitude in the foothills of the Sierra Tejada mountain range, on the highest mountain in Axarquia, La Maroma which reaches 2,080 metres. Canillas is the ideal base for walking and exploring. The natural spring from the mountain attracts people from far away due to a belief that if the pure water is drunk, illness is prevented.
There are many shops in the village, including two banks, post office, art gallery, various mini supermarkets, butcher, pharmacy and a DIY shop. For eating in the village, there is a choice of 3 restaurants; the Bodega, with 2 huge pots outside, serves excellent food in the bar or the restaurant. The Sociedad also serves full meals or tapas and Brensons, this is run by a English couple and serves Mediterranean dishes. There are various other bars for drinks, tapas or a simple meal.
Lake Vinuela is a short drive away, providing plenty of activities in and around the lake.
