This impressive Andalucian farmhouse, located in an elevated position, amongst olive and almond groves, has the most stunnning views. Overlooking the valley, across whitewashed villages, the scenery stretches across to the Tejeda mountain range. The farmhouse has been a family home for many years and in the process has been lovingly restored yet has retained many of the original features. The rooms all have traditional beamed ceilings, many rooms with terracotta floor tiles, open fire places/woodburning stoves, decorative wrought iron lights and beautiful solid wooden doors. "Modern" and "comfort" have been carefully introduced. The beautiful farmhouse kitchen which is definetly the central aspect of the house, has a large central wooden table and seating for 6/8. Fitted out in solid wooden units, there is ample storage space, a large traditional style hob/oven, American fridge/ freezer with ice maker, double sink, microwave, coffee- maker, kettle, toaster, juicer and 28" flat screen tv. There is also a lovely, decorative cast iron and tiled wood burner. The spacious lounge has a 4 metre french window, comfy sofas, 42" flat screen satelite tv, dvd, video, wood burning stove, air con and a selection of books, games and dvd,s. There is also a lovely, relaxing sun lounge with cd player and with antique wooden doors leading out onto one of the patios. This room is especially cool in the summer months also with aircon, and outside through large original oak doors, the patio has large arches and is covered to give another great shaded seating area. There is a seperate dining room with spectacular views ,furnished in lovely antique furniture. Upstairs there is a large and spacious master bedroom with king size bed, french doors leading onto a balconette,a full ensuite and fabulous views. The second bedroom has twin beds, is large and spacious and again has french windows onto a private balconette. There is also another pretty double bedroom with double bed & 22" flat screen/dvd and a seperate bathroom with shower unit, toilet and sinkbasin. Down stairs there is a fourth bedroom with twin beds and a fully fitted bathroom with bath, overhead shower, toilet and sinkbasin close by. All upstairs bedrooms have air conditioning. The gardens and patios can be accessed from both sides of the house. The old oak kitchen door accesses a patio with a small walled kitchen garden, jacuzzi and covered area under arches with lovely views. The rear double kitchen doors lead out on to a small semi court yard with seating and opens out onto the main pool and patio area . Here there is a large covered eating area with table and chairs and BBQ. Also onto the pool, gardens and large sunbathing area with sunbeds, whicker sun umbrellas and uninterrupted views. For visiting children there is a large play area , including tree house, table tennis and trampoline at the side of the carpark area, only to be used under supervision. Colmenar has a good selection of bars, restaurants, a local market , banks, 24 hour medical centre and supermarkets etc. Historic Granada and Old Malaga, cosmopolitan Marbella and Nerja , beaches and shopping centres are all an easy drive.
The farmhouse was used by a National TV company for a month, to film 8 programmes for a series on "Cookery and Lifestyle", promoting this beautiful rural area.

There is a vast selection of beaches to choose from, the nearest being approx 30 mins by car. Due to our central location, travel to the west or east of Malaga coast is a comfortable drive.Torremolinos 30 mins, Malaga 30 mins,(cathederal and beaches), Benalmadena 45 mins (award winning marina , beaches), Fuengirola 45 mins, Marbella 1 hour, Gibralter 1 hr 40 mins, Nerja 1 hour. Lake Vinuela with lovely lakeside bars 20 mins. All times are approx. There are innumerable golf courses along this coastline , all of exceptional standard and attract all levels of players. Nearest is approx 30 mins. The popular ski resort of Sierra Nevada is less than 2 hours away, a comprehensive selection of pistes, ski school, snow boarding and a good selection of bars and restaurants. Locally there are available some courses on painting, cookery, yoga instruction and walking tours, please ask.
A comprehensive guide to the local area, its facilities, location of shopping centres, water parks, beaches, historical areas, country walks, horse riding, dolphin or fishing trips, local events etc are all detailed in an information booklet in the property. Internet /wifi available 15 euros pw, please book before hire , please book in advance. Cot/high chair available free of charge, please request if required. Notes
Prices are for the property per week in sterling. The party can only include those persons who are listed on the booking form. Discounts can be given for bookings of over 2 weeks, or for 2 persons only, please ask. A 30% non refundable deposit is required to reserve the property, with the full amount due 8 weeks prior to arrival. On arrival we ask for 200/Euro damage deposit which is returned in full at the end of your stay as long as there are no damage/breakages, payable on arrival , no cheques. A receipt is sent for all payments. If required, payment for the holiday can also be made in euros, please ask.
The property is cleaned to a high standard for the arrival of guests and clean linen and towels are provided and linen changed on a weekly basis. Mid week cleaning can be arranged , please ask. Beach towels are not provided but can be hired if required,5 euros x 2 payable locally. PAYMENT CAN ALSO BE MADE IN EUROS, PLEASE ASK.
