Notes
In the heart of some of Andalucía’s most spectacular scenery in Axarquia lies Lake Viñuela, a man-made reservoir which as well as serving the useful purpose of providing thousands of homes with water, in an aesthetic sense the lake has become a determinate part of the local landscape. Before the area was flooded to create the reservoir many sites were excavated providing finds dating back to the Neolithic as well as Roman eras but today, the area has become a favourite spot to ‘get away from it all’ and the peace and tranquillity is only disturbed by the twittering of little birds which dash around above you and perch high up in the pine trees which surround the water.
Thankfully, as the lake is a reservoir, no motorised craft are allowed, just simple sailing boats and canoes sometimes disturb the usual flat calm of the surface. Scattered around the southern end of the lake are picnic areas, each table complimented by a barbeque and all with fantastic views of the lake and mountains behind.
The lake took its name from the nearby village of La Viñuela, which nestles in a valley supporting olive groves and lower down, cereal crops. The village was named after small vines found in the area when the village was merely a refreshment stop on the route from the coast to Granada. The inn which fed and watered weary travellers in the 18th Century is still there on the narrow main street and these days it serves as a meeting place and refuge for the old men of the village who meet for a game of dominoes and the local farmhands escaping the midday sun. Also of interest in the small town is the 16th Century church of San José containing a fine sculpture of the Pieta. Two tributaries of the River Velez, the Guaro and the Seco, run through the municipality of which the Guaro was dammed to create the reservoir that can hold 170 million cubic metres of water.
In the region of Axarquía, where we are located, youll find an infinite number of possibilities: routes through our villages and coasts, visits to the Nerja Caves, popular festivals, cultural visits, etc.

The province of Malaga and Costa del Sol also offers you a wide range of possibilities for leisure: the Picasso Museum, Amusement Park, Shopping Centers, etc.

If you choose to explore Andalucia, youll find La Alhambra and the Sierra Nevada in Granada 60 minutes away, the Mosque and typical Patios of Cordoba 90 minutes away and our unique regional capital of Seville two hours away. Youll also be very close to the Provinces of Almería, Jaén and the eastern part of Cádiz.

Notes
PRICE AND PAYMENT:
Prices are as listed in price list. Rates are per. week in euros and include normal use of gas, water and electricity.
In addition, final cleaning and additional consumption of electricity.
Included electricity pr. week are: 200 kW. pr. week. Additional Electricity: 0.50 Euro per. Kw. beyond 100 kW.
The above prices can be regulated without notice, if these increases. In winter, there will be a fee for use of firewood for the fireplaces.

Terms of payment are 25% deposit (non refundable) Balance to be paid 60 days prior to arrival. Bank transfers accepted.

€ 300 collateral is required in cash upon arrival. Returned after final inspection, minus possibly additional consumption, and damage caused by tenants of the building or furniture.

ARRIVAL:
Rental period is normally from Saturday at 16:00 to Saturday at 10:00.
(Other arrival/departure times and can be arranged).
Keys are delivered to the tenant, at a place designated by the Proprietor’s or his representative.

FINAL CLEANING:
Mandatory final cleaning which includes washing of linen, washing floors, emptying the dishwasher and checking equipment, etc. currently costing 100, - Euro.
The house can be inhabited by a maximum of eight persons.
More than eight persons only upon written permission.
