This area is Andalucia's best kept secret and Finca la Serenidad is a place for serious relaxation. Tucked away in the hillside 2kms beyond the charming white hilltop village of Bédar, our views are of pine-clad hillsides and in the far distance we can just glimpse the Sierra Nevada on a clear day.
Finca la Serendidad is our house and the lower floor is given over entirely to a separate two bedroom apartment which can be rented on a self-catering or B&B basis. There are two air conditioned double rooms each with a bathroom or shower room, a spacious sitting room and large covered terrace shared between the two rooms. The sitting room is equipped not only with satellite TV and internet connection but also with everything you might need to make a simple meal - or you can to take advantage of our Table d'Hôte dinners or to drive to one of the 5 bar/restaurants in the village. The best part of doing it yourself is that we take away all the washing up and do it for you!
Our 12 metre pool and its surrounding terraces with sunloungers and barbecue are also available at any time.
La Serenidad is an ideal base for a walking holiday - there is so much to explore and so many walks of varying degrees of difficulty and we can arrange for you to join a local walking group if you wish. There are old iron ore mine workings close by and there is a particularly interesting, well signed walk which takes you through them, starting at our door if you do not want to do the first more arduous bit. Our flat-coat retriever, Spooks, is always ready for a walk if you would like his company.
If you can tear yourself away from all the peace and quiet, a visit to the Cabo de Gata natural park, which boasts some of the most beautiful, unspoiled beaches in the Mediterranean, is a must, just three quarters of an hour away.
Our price list reflects the self-catering price, for which there is a minimum stay of 7 nights and a small discount if using only one bedroom. Please consult us for B&B prices if you are interested in a shorter stay or see our website.

Notes
Prices are for the two bedroom apartment, occupying both bedrooms, on a self-catering basis and without maid service. There is a discount of €50 per week when only one bedroom is used. Stays of less than one week are possible on B&B basis (minimum 2 nights) - off-season price €65 for double room with continental breakfast and maid service, high season €70.
Reservation deposit of 25% (minimum €130) balance being payable on arrival in cash. All extras (dinners, honesty bar) payable on departure. Fixed price three course dinner with wine €19 per person. Sterling payments possible by prior arrangement at prevailing exchange rate.

More about Jane Breay

We (Jane & Terry) have been living in Spain since 2001. On our first visit to this beautiful area in 1999 we fell in love with a stunning piece of land and decided to build our new house/B&B on it.
The process was a rather long one as rural permissions are hard to come by but we finally moved in in 2008, having along the way renovated another large property to keep us busy.
Now we are kept busy looking after 10 acres of land and our flat-coat retriever, Spooks.

A wonderful place to enjoy the hinterland of Spain without being far off the beaten track. Absolutely stunning views of the mountains near and distant. Blissfully quiet and tranquil, plenty of walking opportunities but the lovely pool and terraces are very tempting. The accommodation is to a very high standard, the food is excellent and we had a lovely warm welcome from our hosts. Highly recommended.

Relax in the serenity of Finca la Serenidad

This immaculate B&B run by Jane and Terry, who are so helpful and kind, was a perfect place for a few days relaxation in the autumn sunshine. Plenty of walks to work up a thirst for local wine and an appetite for Jane's delicious dinners. It was still warm enough in November to swim in the pool and have breakfast on the terrace.
