Location:
Gualchos is a mountain village in Andalucia, 5 km from the town of Castell del Ferro with its beaches and about 120 km from either Malaga or Almeria airports both frequently serviced by Easyjet, Ryanair and Monarch. This is a journey of about an hour and a half, alternatively it is about an hour from Granada which has an airport that Ryanair and Monarch fly to.
The village includes a bakery, a small but well-stocked supermarket and an ice cream shop. There are two bars, a restaurant and a barbecue restaurant which is open in the summertime only.
Castell De Ferro has supermarkets, an internet cafe, banks, pharmacy, a post office and several restaurants.
Activities:
The historical city of Granada is an hour away where you can visit the Alhambra and wander down the small streets.
There is plenty of walking in the area and in the winter months you can ski near Granada.
The pretty mountain villages of the Alpujarras are an hours drive away.
Almeria is rich in history with its Alcazaba and the picturesque town of Salobrena is only 30 minutes drive away.
There are plenty of beaches close by too, both in the local towns and more secluded bays.
