Alternatively, you can wander down to the exotic walled garden planted with fig, citrus and palms. Within the walled garden there is a delightful Moorish style ornamental pool edged with local ochre coloured pond has a fountain and is stocked with colourful fish. The walled garden is ideal for naturists.

For al fresco dining, there is a wonderful rustic covered dining terrace made from the antique eucalyptus roof beams sourced from the farm during renovation.

The property is 18th century and has thick stone walls and high vaulted ceilings with exposed timbers. This helps keep the property cool in the summer, unlike modern villas which become unbearable hot! To add to the fun there is a large table football game.
Arroyo Medina is in an area known as Los Velez, in the province of Almeria, Andalucia. Cortijo Arroyo Medina is well situated for visiting many places of interest and is only 45 minutes from the Mediterranean beaches of Mojacar, Garrucha, Vera and Villaricos. You can visit the pueblo blancos, such as Velez Blanco or explore the larger towns of Velez Rubio or Albox. Granada is about a 2 hour drive. Lake Negratin is about 1 hour away. The thermal lagoon at Cela is about 30 mins. The countryside is fabulous from mountains to valleys filled with olive trees. In the early spring the hillsides are awash with pink almond blossom and oranges and lemons are being harvested.

Cortijo Arroyo Medina is equidistant between the airports of Murcia and Almeria, both are about 90 minutes away. Alicante is 2 hours. Local shops and a large market are 15 minutes away.
